Colin and a Gibson Thunderbird!

Being a lifetime Fender bass player, it has been hard to picture myself playing anything other than my precision or jazz... but now the time has come in my musical journey to step out the Fender box for a moment and space into the musical realm that is Gibson. Although my Fender basses may shed a tear or two and be upset with me for cheating on them, I think they will live. It won't be permanent (I hope) just need to change it up for a bit... I feel like getting a bass with a longer scale and humbuckers might inspire me to write bass lines like I have not written in the past - tones I have never heard before and a feel that is sure to be different than any of my Fender babies. A Thunderbird is the only bass I've seen or felt that even came close to being a thought of purchase. One day I will own a Rickenbacker and probably a Sadowski at some point, but they don't seem right for this point in my rock n roll life. Wish me luck
