Tumbleweed Wanderers / Blog

Beginnings

We're off to the races. Our debut headline show is April 21 at Rooster's Roadhouse in Alameda. We've been working everyday for the past three weeks putting this set together. We can promise trumpet, glockenspiel, covers, breakdowns, organs, and much much more. We'll also be giving away a three song disc of home recordings we have done in the past month. Here's the details:

After that, we'll be playing May 12 at The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz. We're opening for local heroes Birdhouse. This is my favorite spot in Santa Cruz, with great food and great bands. This show will sell out so get there early. Here's the details

Birdhouse w/ North Pacific String Band & Tumbleweed Wanderers The Crepe Place 1134 Soquel Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 9:00 $8 Adv. / $10 Door All Ages

We're also working on the first volume of a series of "busking albums" in which we put out free LPs of covers all done live in one take with no overdubs or effects. Expect that out in early May. We'll be covering Dylan, Paul Simon, and The Flying Burrito Brothers, to name a few.

Finally, we'll begin recording our debut EP in a couple of weeks at Pyramind in San Francisco. Our drummer, Daniel Blum will engineer the sessions, while we're in talks with original Audiophiles drummer Jacob Blumberg will most likely be mixing and mastering the sessions. Expect that to drop around the end of June, likely coinciding with a gig at Bottom of The Hill. More details to follow.
