BEEN A BLOGGING WHILE!

Hey, we've been neglecting this blogging function here on ReverbNation for a couple of years! Will look into some updates soon. Cheers!

TERMINATRYX "Shadow" Album Released!

The long awaited new studio album by Cape Town-based Alternative-Metal / Industrial-Rock band TERMINATRYX was released on 4 April 2014. (Terminatryx pronounced: "Terminaytricks")

TERMINATRYX – “Shadow”

Never ones to follow convention, with Terminatryx entering its 12th year, the new album takes the band into yet another realm (following their self-titled debut album; its full remixed version incl. international & local remixers; the Kopskoot! heavy Afrikaans compilation; and the Terminatryx DVD featuring the classic silent vampire film Nosferatu with a new original soundtrack). This Flamedrop Production was produced by Terminatryx co-founder Paul Blom and the renowned Theo Crous - the duo wanted to add a new dimension of sonic force, yet not diminish the potential accessibility of the songs. With lead vocalist Sonja Ruppersberg having an equal hand in writing this album’s songs with Paul, her emotional perspective added a great deal to expanding the scope of the new songs that are filled with energy, passion and a drive to transcend the mundane.

Known for being guitarist in bands like Springbok Nude Girls and K.O.B.U.S., and producing acts like Van Coke Kartel, Prime Circle, Parlotones and Dan Patlansky, Theo Crous also mixed the “Shadow” album and by recording at his Bellville Studios, a warmer analog element was added to the previous digitally dominated recording process of Terminatryx.

The album is available on CD as well as reputed on-line locations including iTunes, Bandcamp, Amazon mp3, CD Baby and others.

www.YouTube.com/Terminatryx

With the release of the ambitious TERMINATRYX "Remyx v1.0" full remix album involving notable international artists from 5 countries (incl. South Africa), the wheels are well in motion with exciting music videos being rolled out. All remix album info at www.terminatryx.com/remix

MIDNIGHT: The first single, "Midnight (The Awakening Remix)" and its vampire-themed music video launches on-line this Friday 20 April at the band's YouTube channel: www.YouTube.com/Terminatryx For this the video is also a remixed / resurrected version of the original with additional elements and FX added, plus the incorporation of the remixer (something the bands plans to do with all the remix music videos). The Awakening is head by Ashton Nyte, a leading South African Goth-Rock figure who has relocated to the USA. The audio track has just been posted at the MySpace page: www.MySpace.com/terminatryxxx

OBSESSION: This will be followed by the video for one of the "Remyx v1.0" album's bonus tracks, the "Obsession" cover version (feat. Theo Crous of Springbok Nude Girls and K.O.B.U.S.), with a voyeur / supernatural narrative angle adding to the performance scenes. See pics at: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.394142150612521.111083.190790624281009&type=1 On 26 April there will be a big screen premiere of the "Obsession" music video (plus "Marked", the werewolf short film expanded from the band's award-winning "Virus" music video) at the CineMacabre short film event (Labia Theatre, Orange Street, Cape Town). The cinematic event will feature a range of short films from local moviemakers. Event page: http://www.facebook.com/events/274736445947112

SIEK+SAT: Soon the band will also be releasing the music video made in 2008 for the only Afrikaans song on the self-titled debut album, "Siek+Sat" - translated "Sick+Tired" (which was shelved for various technical reasons incl. being shot in SD & not HD, and the green screen flame effects - but they decided, screw it, why waste the clip and its cool undead make-up effects?!). The video did make its debut on the big screen at various events in 2009 & 2010, including at Oppi Koppi as opener for the Terminatryx live movie soundtrack project The Makabra Ensemble's performance for the Nosferatu movie; at the Short Cut and Future Shorts short film events; plus the South African HorrorFest and X Fest film festivals. VIRUS / MARKED: Before the werewolf music video of "Virus" (which won Best Music Clip at the Barossa Film Festival in Australia), a live version was edited, but held back for its visually striking counterpart. This will be launched in a few months. While accepted at various film festivals like the Salt Lake City International Horror Film Festival (USA) and above mentioned Barossa, the expanded short film version "Marked" will make its on-line debut in the next month or so at www.YouTube.com/FlamedropProductions

(Thus far) all the Terminatryx music videos and short films divert from the norm with Horror / Supernatural elements, and are produced & directed by band co-founders Paul Blom and Sonja Ruppersberg.

LIVE SHOWS: A live show is being scheduled for 4 May at The Rabbit Hole (Durbanville, Cape Town), while Terminatryx will be the live act performing at the World Goth Day masked ball event, Carnivale Di Sangue (26 May, Mercury, Cape Town), which will be accompanied by the band's video backdrop featuring all their visual creations. TERMINATRYX - New Music Videos

Sticking to our tradition as with previous TERMINATRYX music videos, featuring themes like vampires in "Midnight" and werewolves in "Virus", this time round for the new "Obsession" cover version's video currently in post-production, we enter a bit of a super-natural realm coupled with voyeurism! More info to follow soon.

Also in the works: a re-edit of the "Midnight" video for its remix by The Awakening, and finally unveiling the undead music video shot back in 2008 for the Afrikaans song "Siek+Sat" (translated: "Sick+Tired").

TERMINATRYX - Debut Album vs Remixes Trailer

The recent release of the TERMINATRYX "Remyx v1.0" album has also re-directed the attention to the unique self-titled debut album, which forms the basis for these exciting re-interpretations by amazing remixers from 5 countries, incl. the UK, Austria, Greece, USA & South Africa (the 1st single announced soon).

With the focus on both of these releases, and the rarely attempted full remixed mirror image of the entire album from start to finish, this resulted in the production of the extensive 10 minute sampler video trailer, featuring extracts from the dozen tracks on the self-titled album, alternated by their remixed versions from the "Remyx v1.0" album (+ bonus tracks). The 27 clips are accompanied by music videos, live footage and stills of the band, as well as images and web info on all the remixers (incl. Sigue Sigue Sputnik's Martin Degville with Lloyd Price, Sheep On Drugs, The Awakening, Modern-e-Quartet, Industriezone, Battery 9, Mr Sakitumi, Axxon, Nul, iRONic, Jekyll & Hyde). TERMINATRYX - "Remyx v1.0" Unleashed!

TERMINATRYX - "Remyx v1.0" (pronounced "Terminaytrix – Remix version 1.0")

Late-2008 / early-2009 South Africa’s female-fronted Industrial-Metal band TERMINATRYX embarked on finding the right people to remix the entire acclaimed self-titled debut album, a rarely tackled endeavor in South African music (except for mainstream artists doing a few songs per album, not each and every track in sequence). This led to an incredible range of collaborators from around the world inspired by the tracks to put brand new spins on the already unique TERMINATRYX songs, from Dance, Industrial and Avant-Garde styles, to Trance, Aggro-Tech, EBM, Electronica, string- & acoustic versions, plus more. These include people like the legendary Martin Degville from Sigue Sigue Sputnik, with Lloyd Price (UK), Sheep On Drugs (UK), Industriezone (Austria), Modern-e-Quartet (Greece), SA Goth legends The Awakening (relocated to the USA), and local musical forces like Battery 9 and Mr Sakitumi, plus Terminatryx versions and bonus tracks. More info at www.TERMINATRYX.com/remix

a Flamedrop Production released by ENT Entertainment. Cover design “remix” by Paul Blom & Dr-Benway.

This remix project led to an incredible range of collaborators from around the world putting a brand new spin on the already unique Industrial-Metal flavoured TERMINATRYX songs, transforming them into everything from Dance, Industrial, Trance and Avant-Garde styles, to Aggro-Tech, EBM, Electronic and acoustic versions (plus bonus tracks).
