January 2015

Welcome to 2015 and a new year of music, travels, fun and seeing old and new friends. We’re excited about what we have planned for this year and hope we’ll see you at one of the events! JANUARY 11, 2015 6:00-10:00 PM A MUSICAL TRIBUTE FOR RACHEL BLANTON The Bard's Town 1801 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky FREE On December 25, 2014, we unexpectedly lost our dear friend Rachel Blanton. Rachel was a former band mate of Laurel and Henry in My Darling Asleep. The band also included Sean Mulhall, Marie Geever and Marion Halliday. Rachel was a much loved and talented violinist and was able to cross genres easily. She played with so many musicians in Louisville, was instrumental in starting Abbey Road on the River, played with Bourbon Baroque, Splitbow, the Porch Possums and so many more. The best tribute is to play some of the music that Rachel loved and on this evening you will be able to hear what a huge variety that included. The evening is still in planning, but will feature 20-30 min sets from a host of musicians including- Keltricity, Cloigheann, Lachlan, Classical Revolution, Porch Possums, Marie Geever, Irish session players, players from Bourbon Baroque and many more. It’s our way to remember our gentle friend and the years of joy she brought so many. My Darling Asleep JANUARY 16, 2015 7:00-9:00 pm THE BARD'S TOWN The Bard's Town 1801 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky $5.00 suggested cover We start the new year right with what has now become a traditional “Something Old, Something New” evening of music. You’ll hear some of the old favorites, and will hear previews of newer pieces we’ve been working on. There will be lots to hear, so bring lots of ears! If you wish to have dinner before the show, please make reservations with the Bard’s Town. JANUARY 31, 2015 8:00-11:00 PM BLOOMINGTON OLD TIME MUSIC AND DANCE GROUP Harmony School 909 E.
