I just got back from southern California. I went out there to help a friend gather her parents. They’re getting on in age, so now they’re going to live in Austin TX.
Her step father Leonard was a race horse trainer in California and a World War II veteran and all around great guy. It’s going to be a rewarding challenge for her.
I was able to see a couple old friends while I was there. Gordon Fordyce (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1308695/), producer, engineer, worked with A Drop in the Gray on several tracks, and was responsible for introducing A Drop in the Gray to Lindsey Buckingham. Lindsey played guitar on Say It With A Tear.
I was also able to have lunch at Canters on Fairfax with Eddie Chacon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Would_I_Lie_to_You%3F_(Charles_and_Eddie_song), a singer songwriter friend of mine from Hayward California. Eddie and I moved down to L.A. from northern California around the same time back in the eighties.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see Richard Bell, the original keyboardist for A Drop in the Gray and Bruce Ball, A Drop in the Gray’s merch man..
Rehearsal tonight with new lineup for A Drop in the Gray.
