"Quit Work, Make Music" is the new album from Rock/Country band '62 North'. The project started as a means to secure live bookings, but quickly snowballed! The concept of the album is "Tribute", tribute to their Country music influences, both traditional and contemporary, and the different playing styles within Country music that have crafted 62 North's sound. The band chose to cover several songs from their wide range of influences within the genre. On "Quit Work, Make Music", 62 North recorded material from some of their favorite artists. From contemporary acts like Randy Houser, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn and Trace Adkins, to influential legends Hank Williams Sr. and Billy Joe Shaver. Combined with Rock and even Hip Hop, these are the sounds that help form the Country Rock sound the band exhibits in their live show and songwriting.
The 3 original songs included on the album are a foreshadow for the band's next album. Expected in 2012, that album will feature all original music. These songs were written by lead vocalist and bassist Dylan Mader and drummer D.J. Brown.
