Jake Clayton Interview with England's Phoenix Country Radio

Check out Jake's recent interview with Peter Englefield from Phoenix country Radio out of Leeds, England. Jake was fresh off of the road from a Canadian tour with Tanya Tucker followed by multiple nights of playing shows with Sunny Sweeney opening for Garth Brooks! Jake discusses his perspective on touring, playing shows with Country Music legends, and releasing his own music.

Jake Appears on Garth Brooks Tour

It's been an incredible month for Jake Clayton. First off, Jake spent close to 3 weeks in Canada, not only playing Fiddle & Steel for Country Music legend Tanya Tucker, but also kicking off some of her shows singing and performing his 'crowd pleasing' version of the Fiddle classic, "Orange Blossom Special"!

After returning to the US with Tanya, Jake hoped on a plane to Lubbock, Texas to join Country Music Artist, Sunny Sweeney for a round of shows opening for the #1 selling solo Artist in US History, Garth Brooks!

Jake posted this on his Facebook Artist Page:

"I was inspired to start playing fiddle while watching Garth Brooks Live from Central Park. It has remained one of my biggest inspirations. Last night I got to play my fiddle in front of a packed arena right before Garth Brooks and his fiddle player Jimmy Mattingly hit the stage! This is a DREAM COME TRUE for me! AND, I get to do it again! Thank you so much Sunny Sweeney."

Jake plays multiple Instruments on Sunny Sweeney's latest album, "Trophy", which appeared in the iTunes Top 5 and has garnered high praise from the Country Music media:

-"Trophy is the full package" - Saving Country Music

-"Outspoken, heartfelt and fearless, this collection of songs is exactly what country music needs right now" - Wide Open Country!

-"Trophy is proof that storytelling is alive and well in country music" - Nashville Scene

-"a master class in songwriting, sequencing, production, hooks, believability, you name it." - Austin Chronicle

-"with any measure of justice, Trophy will be recognized as the number one country album of the year" - Elmore Magazine

-"Sunny Sweeney's new album is simply stunning" - Lyric Magazine

Jake Visits the 'Gold Tone Instruments' Factory

On his recent acoustic tour through Florida, Jake visited the Gold Tone Factory in Titusville, FL. Gold Tone deals in Banjos, Mandolins, Dobros, and more, which are used by some of the top players in the business! Gold Tone has also started making 'hybrid' instruments like Banjos & Mandolins with guitar necks, which make it easier for players of one instrument to get the sound of another. Gold Tone refers to these instruments as their 'Folkternative' line of products. Jake has been playing his Gold Tone banjo, that he named 'Bacchus', for 12 years now, and recently acquired the 'Paul Beard Signature-Series Squareneck Resonator Guitar'.

Jake met with the sales manager, Justin Grizzle, and spent the day shooting video for the company which included a version of Jake's own song 'Kickin Up Dust' performed entirely by himself on multiple instruments! We're looking forward to seeing the videos. Thanks to Justin, audio engineer Cameron Foster, and videographer, James Rayner!
