A LOT of music.

I've been going over my catalogue of several hundred recordings, updating and all. I should probably start selling some of it . . .

It's all in the rhythm.

I awoke this morning, mentally playing one of my songs which has an odd time signature. I was trying different rhythms, and found that a standard rhythm (4/4 or 3/4) won’t work. A loop machine (or most live drummers) would just abbreviate the timing to something standard.

New Recordings

I finally got all my original songs onto a master disk set. With so many songs & song ideas, it's been difficult to organize it all. It took 14 CDs to hold it all. Info directly from this project: 9hr & 39 minutes of Finished Songs: 131 Original Songs on the set. Several still unrecorded. 16 new, unheard songs onto CD. 163 recordings, 37 New (never put on disk) (32 Alternate versions) 7 Cover songs (2 written by friends, I recorded & did backup vocals or guitar/bass). Additionally: 38 new ideas for songs; 63 recordings of new ideas. 1:07 of new song ideas. Grand Total: 226 recordings, 14 disks. Grand total: 72 new recordings since last master disk set. (8-31-14) 9hr & 39 minutes of Finished songs: This set burned to CD on: 12/9/19 All songs copyrighted by Alan Bradley

In the last year or so

I've been working on cataloguing all the my original music on my computer, and converting the Wavs to mpg, for disk. I’ve invested about 40 hours doing this, just in the last week. Some were recorded & catalogued by title, some by date. Working titles changed, as I wrote lyrics. I have thousands of recordings dating back in the last ten years, and it’s been a HUGE job figuring it all out, and re-sorting it all. I mixed or re-mixed several of my songs with multiple tracks (flute, bass, vocals, drums, guitar), and it looks like I'll have about 72 NEW RECORDINGS that never made it to CD. Fifteen of those new recordings are new songs. It’ll produce about 10 HOURS OF RECORDED MUSIC. It’s ALL ORIGINAL MUSIC (I’ve only recorded 7 cover songs). I also have another additional hour or so of song ideas recorded on the computer. When I’m finished burning these songs to approximately 14 CDs, I’ll start the task of listening to 17 MORE hours of songs & song ideas, recorded on (antique) cassette tape. - Alan Bradley - 11/30/19

Recording

I've been playing and recording with Terri Coe Lachance, lately. She's written about 40 songs or so, and has a great voice; sings with great phrasing.

Keyboard

I've had a friend, Steve, stop over several times with a keyboard. We've worked out several songs, and have had a great crowd response.

Lately

I'm gradually going back to my roots of playing my guitar again. The looper helped me develop some singing skills, which I hope to put to good use.

Music Update

I've been working with the looper to find harmonies for new songs. I've been playing less guitar because a combination of over-practice, wood-splitting, and Karate have been causing some pain; I want all to heal correctly. My love is composing.

Open mikes

I've been occasionally running open mikes at "The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts" organization in Middletown, CT, and at "Perk on Main," in Durham, CT, where I'll be tonight from 6:30 - 8pm.

Current State of my Music

1-13-2012 I've been polishing up the edges on about 30 new songs or so. We'll see where the pieces fall; the best dozen songs or so will go on album 4, which will probably be predominantly instrumentals.
