The Power In Praise
I’m convinced that saints that struggle with a defeated mentality lack the ability to praise. It seems funny to even think this; but most people can relate to worship because the feeling of humility and brokeness is very similar to shame and defeat. This can be perceived as idolatress worship because often the feeling and the inspiration behind it has nothing to do with God but an ungodly feeling. Though the person may not intentionally submit to this act; the fact remains that it’s inspired by a bad circumstance and comes from an impure place. But when you run into one who knows the power of praise it’s broadcasted through their character and their “know no defeat” mentality releases a spirit of gladness.
Psalm 27:6 and now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. Often people who struggle with opposition hang their head in defeat which makes this scripture so powerful, it starts with decreeing a lifted head, and a great expectation in knowing victory is the only option in Christ Jesus which warrants praise. I will sing yea I will sing; shows a reassuring that no matter how many issues surround me my song of praise will be heard. Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth
What I loved the most about Psalm 27:6 is when David boldly declared that he will lift his head above his enemies round about; this speaks to multiple circumstances, strongholds, assignments and weapons formed against you, but you lift your head with confidence; walking in peace, knowing they won’t prosper. The scripture also speaks of purposely getting into his presence by offering these praises in His tabernacle; the place where he dwells. .
There’s a saying that’s heard in church’s everywhere; when I think of the goodness of God and all he’s done for me my soul cries out hallelujah. Hallelujah is the highest praise and when the enemy is able to plant fear and doubt in your mind he steals your hallelujah. If we can’t protect the contents of our soul which is the very life within us our dreams, desires and hopes will perish. Once we gain understanding of God and his ways the revelation moves from the mind to the heart and soul; that’s why the enemy connects to the flesh in pursuit of what’s inside. Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Remember, it’s not what happens from day to day that robs us of the ability to praise God but how we respond; this is why we are to command our days. The power of death and life are in the tongue and can shift the bad to good; however the lack of evidence that can be seen tends to sweep weak believers off their feet. Why? Ignorance is the leading cause of failure and the inability to consistently move in faith births compromising behavior. . Proverbs 18:21 Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof
Father I pray that you would manifest your self in the lives of every believer; showing them you are the undefeated champion, one who never lose. Let our hearts be filled with thanksgiving and our tongues trained to continuously praise you. Give us power to break our bed of bondage and reverse every curse of no momentum, poverty and defeat with breakthrough praise. Let your wondrous works be known with every declaration and song in Jesus Name

Often we as believers allow things in the natural to birth a spirit of compromise in areas of our lives where we lack faith the most. As time goes on you’ll find the need to “fix” things alone thus opening yourself up to even greater attacks. In most cases the voice of the Lord has been heard but ignored because of the inability to totally trust in the supernatural.
We’ve quoted verses like (II Corinthians 10:4 “for the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds”) and for most of us that’s all it will ever be, a quote! If faith comes by hearing but we don’t allow God to speak but instead rely upon our own ability to do, we set ourselves up and those connected to us to become entangled.
Entangled means: 1. To twist together or entwine into a confusing mass; snarl. 2. To complicate; confuse. 3. To make complicated 4. To involve in difficulties; entrap.
I’ve often seen this spirit manifest in not only myself but in the church as a whole and usually the root cause would be lying, breaking promises, being un-faithful, inability to love and follow proper structure. (No Honor For Leaders) Failing to follow proper structure because of pride and carnality can cause the body of Christ to wonder aimlessly for years and miss times to both sow and reap thus being a stagnant people. The evidence is lack of power, instability, heavy religious tendencies, always suspicious and un-forgiveness. Ecclesiastes 7:29 "Behold, I have found only this, that God made men upright, but they have sought out many devices."
Other root causes are financial lack, the lack of unity in the body and lack of kingdom principles and doctrine. Mark 4:19 “but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” To choke means 1. to have difficulty in breathing, swallowing, or speaking. 2. To become blocked up or obstructed. In John 1:1 it teaches us that God is the word, with that being said, allowing selfish desires to become priority and the need to gain on a personal level will block and obstruct the word of God enabling us to hear him when he speaks.
God’s original plan and it still remains true today is for His people to live a life full of fruit. John 10:10 helps us to understand just how much he loves us. He came not for us to simply exist but to enjoy the abundant life in Him. Realizing that the only plan, blueprint or agenda that is relevant is that of the Kingdom which has set us up to receive overflow. This revelation has proven to be breakthrough technology for strong believers demonstrating great faith.
I encourage you to breakout and be loosed from all that entangles you. Allow the word of God to inspire you in the right structure and watch the fruit be made manifest in your life. Remember, access to anything through means of compromise is illegal and will not be recognized in the Kingdom!
