first if all i'd like to apologize for disappearing off the face of the earth. things have been a little hectic as of late and time just hasn't been much of a friend. i did manage to get my album done in time for christmas and most of my friends and family have a copy. it turned out better than i ever thought it could... but there's always room for improvement.
i've started doing open mic nights where i can and by the end of may i'd like to have a polished and proper album ready that will actually be for sale. with a little bit of tweaking and some art for the cover it's my hope that by this summer i'll have something for fans to buy. the album won't be expensive as it's still a home made project. i'll be doing it all myself... but with a professional album cover and the slightest adjustment to the music i think we'll be onto something! and for $5 i think it's a steal of a deal! i'll make sure to keep everyone posted as to when the album will be on sale!
i've also been thinking about merchandise. shirts to be more specific. and those too i'd like to have ready by the end of may. so many things to do... so little time to do them. but then again, i wouldn't have it any other way! if you have any ideas on what i could put on the shirts... i'd love to hear from you! i was thinking of 'the shelley harder experience' or the name of my album 'live, love, listen' but if you have any ideas let me know! i'd love to hear from you!
for now that's all... just thought i'd let everyone know that i'm still around... i'm still writing and playing... and hopefully this summer will bring a lot of stage time.

i really have to stop leaving things til the last minute. or maybe i work better when i'm under extreme pressure. i've decided that once again this year all my friends and family will be getting a CD. last year everyone got a CD full of covers that i had done... everything from The Who and the Rolling Stones to Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. this year i'm doing something special. i'm blending my life as a radio announcer with my life as a musican and i'm going to come up with my very first album. it's going to be raw like i've always wanted my first to be... but i think it's going to be quite good. i'm excited about the whole thing and knowing that my producer friend at work will be able to help me polish up my tracks through the wonders of technology... well that's just an added bonus.
but... to pull this off i have a lot of work to do. i need to get into one of the studios and i need to lay down most of my songs all over again. and i didn't realize until tonight just how many of my own i have! (that's a good thing, not a bad thing.)
i hope it works out... i have an idea in my mind and i just hope i can pull it off.
