Biography:

Formed in 2009, Dead Records is an Australian Independent Record label that specialises in horror and dark themed bands. Providing bands with recordings, mixing and mastering services, artwork, photography and graphic design, as well as band management, tours, bookings, publicity and promotion. The plan is to become the number one horror music label in Australia and NZ. Australia has a growing horror music scene. It’s a music subculture that is only recently been defined. Dead Records has been one of the driving forces behind Australian horror music.

What is horror music?
Horror music is any music that is inspired by dark themes such as vampires, zombies and death. It is not limited to a particular genre or sound, but it shares a common theme. It was born out of cult horror movies, comics and television shows. Often these bands and artists are put into the rock or goth catagories, but this does not quite suit them. Subgenres of horror music include deathrock, horror rock, horror punk, death metal, horror metal, horrorcore ( horror hip hop), deathcore, psychobilly. Famous horror music bands / artists include: Alice Cooper, Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse, Wednesday 13, Rob Zombie, The Creepshow, Zombie Ghost Train

Mission Statement

Dead Records, aims to build up the horror / dark music scene within Australia and throughout the world, by promoting our bands and organising horror events within Australia and spreading to other countries throughout the world.
