Erin James is a true original! She writes, she sings and she plays multiple instruments including mandolin, guitar, keys, fiddle and more! Transplanted to Nashville from Maryland, Erin James is that unique storyteller who has you cryin' in your beer one minute and rollin' off your bar stool the next! She knows how to connect with the audience and is dynamite on stage whether as an acoustic act or with her band of Nashville superstars! Erin James writes and produces all of her own material and each song is layered with moving stories or witty, wicked lyrics. She's performed all across the USA and, even recently, across the pond in Denmark- entertaining crowds of all ages!
When Erin first arrived in Nashville, she started recording her originals, singing on demos, and performing along Music City's iconic Broadway. She was "discovered" by a producer out of the Midwest who hired her to complete an all girl group called Chasing Dixie that included an American Idol Finalist. After touring the USA as part of the trio, Erin decided to focus on her solo career and her passion for songwriting.
Of all the shows she has performed, Erin James says the highlight of her musical career has been, by far, opening a couple of shows for her hero Merle Haggard. This "Girl Haggard" has opened shows for incredible artists like Brooks and Dunn, Darius Rucker, David Allen Coe, Stoney Larue, Keith Anderson, Jason Aldean, Gary Allan, Uncle Kracker. She's even been invited to play after parties for Rascal Flatts, Ted Nugent, Jason Boland and Kansas.
She's appeared on Storme Warren's Headline Country on GAC- TV and the Mo'nique show playing with Cowboy Troy. In addition to Cowboy Tory, Erin also played with John Rich, Keith Anderson and Ronnie Dove (when she was just a teen!)
Erin James' album "Wilted Flower" is available NOW on Reverbnation, iTunes, CD Baby and more! The compilation includes all songs written by Erin James and performances by some of Nashville's best pickers including Brent Mason, Randy Kohrs, and Paul Franklin.
Her next album of originals is produced by Cody Leppo (who has worked with Jamey Johnson, Hal Ketchum, Johnny Highland )- and it is her best work yet! The release date will be announced soon! Stay tuned!
