Biography:

Sabretooth consists of six highly talented musicians from Cape Town South Africa, who love to play 80’s inspired Metal, determined to bring you a sound both visually and aurally impressive. Try keep your bottom jaw up as you witness lightning-fast guitar solos, blurry-handed keyboard playing, powerful yet groovy bass lines, heart-stopping drum patterns and powerful and catchy melodic vocal lines.

For a band so clearly capable of putting on a technical master class, the melody and energetic party atmosphere burns through like a shining light. Each instrument is the threading, which weaves a highly addictive sound that will have your head banging from the first note.

In the short time of the bands existence, Sabretooth have played Ramfest, Synergy Live, played the south african Vans off the wall Music show in 2011. Shared the stage with the likes of In flames (SWE), Awolnation (USA), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (USA), Seven Year Kismet (UK), Horse the Band (USA), Datarock (NOR) and Infected Mushroom (ISR) on their SA tours. They’ve also played at Winterfest ’10, Whiplash Metal Fest ’10, Noisefest Alternative Festival ’10. The enjoyment of Sabretooth shows, is evident in consistent rave reviews on the internet and publication.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch them, do so before they escape this country’s grasp. Their fierce following grows with every performance. This band is heading straight to the top, so sit back and be prepared for a wild ride.

Press:

“Withstand the heat from the sun and the stage as Sabretooth rip the whole fucking world a new one - seriously folks; mouth-gaping, awestruck, teenage-girl-flashing-her-tits amazed! They were simply on fire and the rest of the crowd most certainly seemed to agree.”
Malcolm McArb - Monster from the Blog (Ramfest 2012)

“Sabretooth was spot on. As I sit here writing this article, I just feel inadequate. Sabretooth brings tears to my eyes as I realise that my command of the English language is seriously weak, as I am struggling to find the words to describe to you how supremely talented and balanced this band is.”
Cameron Fraser - MyMusicMatrix

“...and I watched and really enjoyed a band called Sabretooth. I really, really loved their outfits. I saw them walking out in their interesting retro look and thought 'This could be pretty cool'. They did it all in a modern and exciting way and the musicianship was incredible and I really enjoyed their set.”
Ryan Richards (Funeral for a Friend) - Entertainmentafrica

“They are one fine band, I won’t deny it. With their Guns ‘n Roses style and awe-inspiring talent it was a performance I long to witness again. Maybe next time I’m at a festival and everyone is wearing a band t with some bands name on it (which I haven’t heard of) and telling they’re all telling me that I shouldn’t miss said band…maybe, just maybe, I’ll skip one of my favourite bands set’s and make the mish.”
Jeanne Mackenzie - Musicandhippies.com

“Sabretooth stormed the stage next with their retro classic rock-metal and, as always, left the audience agape at the sheer virtuosity on display and begging for more. Loudly.”
Malcom McArb - themonsterfromtheblog

“...I thoroughly loved the virtuosity of Sabretooth (who had the biggest mosh pit of the whole festival)”
Claire Martens - Music Review (Ramfest '11)

“And then there was Sabretooth. One of the clear highlights of the festival (Ramfest). Lightning-fast guitars, drums and keys. Vocalist Mauri Moncada on top form rocked Van Halen's 'JUMP! 'and (after a roaring call for more) a Steel Panther cover! The band had the crowd going mental!”
Dani Diamond - Loseyoursoultorocknroll

"Sabretooth was the second highlight for me. I have been meaning to see them for some time, having heard that they are the best metal act that Cape Town has to offer. I must agree."
Claire Martens - Music Review (Synergy Live Festival)

"SABRETOOTH got the masses moshing, guitarists gobsmacked and sexy girls pulling sultry stunts! They shredded their way through an epic set to a roaring crowd wanting more!"
Dani Diamond - Alternative Eye

“I’d like to think we’ll always be “finding our feet” and staying humble.Once you feel that you’ve made it in the music scene or make an impression, it’s very easy to lose sight of priority number one which (in my opinion) is having fun in your band - Dean”
Neil Van Zyl - Miroviamag.com

“The second band, Sabretooth was the highlight of the evening. Their music is a camp tribute to the hair metal of the ’80s, updated with Malmsteen solos and hoarse vocals.”
Kavish Chetty - Mahala

““Bands I feel you need to watch out for – and I’m not trying to take away anything from any other band – but these two bands have impressed me the most over the last year: Sabretooth and Infanteria””
Antonio Manuel - METAL4AFRICA

“This band is worth listening to and you should seriously make the effort if you have not seen them on stage. The sound is big and precise.”
Glen Kruger - Muzone: The Private Musicians Association

“Sabretooth Interview – “We want to hear the music that no other band can give us.””
