Biography:

Lead vocalist, Donea Ryan has been singing with passion for as long as she can remember. Donea recalls as young child, standing in her families' backyard, trying to imitate the vocal styles of the Soul music that came from a neighbor's house. She was hooked.

Donea's vocals take singing to another level. Her dynamics, complete with energy, depth and richness, capture the listener. She has been said to be "a singer's singer". She gives herself to the music, becomes the vessel, becomes the music.

Lead Guitarist, Bobby Samson has been playing guitar 45 years and has truly refined and honed his blues guitar style. This native Ohioan gained valuable experience performing with and road master McGuffey Lane. Upon returning to the blues scene, Bobby moved to New York to play the style of music he loves, the Blues. Later Bobby studied and played with Detroit's blues greats such as Robert Noll, Uncle Jesse White, Yard Dog Jones, Harmonica Shaw, Jimmy McCarty (guitarist of Mitch Rider) and other stable mates at the Blues Factory Records in Detroit.

Mike Nelson comes from a family of musicians. His biggest drumming influence was his father who toured the U.S. in the early 1960's playing modern jazz/big band music. The music we listened to as kids was, Dave Brubeck, Howard Roberts, Ray Charles and Peggy Lee. "You don't get any luckier than that" says Mike. Mike supports local High School drumming programs and teaches youth drum lessons. His drumming dynamics, abilty to play many styles of music, and gift for spirited performing have been an inspiration to many.

Bassist, Steve Wald teaches guitar at the Gahanna Academy of Music and the Clintonville Music Academy. He also plays in the band Soul Satyr. Recent engagements include Canal Winchester Blues and Rib Fest, Gahanna Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival, London Blues and Rib Fest, Grove City Arts in the Alley, Roop Brother’s Bar in Delaware and The Thirsty Ear.
