Biography:

2021 Chill the latest is out. And, our 2020 EP Lost Souls on Lost Beach is now on Spotify, iTunes and all digital stores, and on Bandcamp at www.shootthepier.bandcamp.com ... ... ... We plan to release a new album in fall 2021.

Shoot The Pier is a father-daughter band based in Jacksonville, FL. Ellie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in Nov. 2019 with her masters in creative writing, and plans to return in 2021 to begin work on her PhD. We are going on eleven years now, and Ellie and I are still having a blast writing, playing and recording original nontraditional instrumental surf music. Over that time, we've been fortunate to have our music included in films and commercials internationally, as well as played on several college stations.

We hope everyone enjoys our 2020 EP Lost Souls on Lost Beach which was released on January 24, 2020, and available with all our music on iTunes and all digital stores. All of our music is written, played (no additional musicians have ever been used on our recordings...and we’re kinda proud of that.), recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by William and Ellie Sims. Our record sales through the years have been strong, and we thank all our fans so much for helping put Ellie through college! Not bad for a no-label band who records in their home studio.

The legendary Phil Dirt rated both our EP Low Hangs The Moon and CD Surf Dance 4 out of 5 stars! Both are on iTunes with hard copies through us. (Unfortunately, we learned he has since retired from reviewing surf records.) Our new EP Lost Souls on Lost Beach, and EP Longboard Mornings (released June 2019), prior EP Sirens of Sado and our prior EP Low Hangs The Moon are all live on Pandora. Look it up, create a channel.

Both being life-long surfers, writing surf music came naturally. We try to encompass all of our surf experiences into our music. Our greatest musical influence was/is the Croatian band The Bambi Molesters... coolest band in the world. Look em up, and they have great YouTube vids.
