Biography:

Biography

I started playing guitar at the age of 8 with my dad and grandma. A lot of old time country. But I quickly rebelled and wanted to play rock and roll.

I taught myself to play different styles of rock and blues. I still play country and sometimes a little jazz. I'm originally from the small town of Jeffersonville Indiana, just across the river from Louisville Kentucky.

At the age of twelve I formed my first band. Our big song was Wipeout.

I jammed with 3 other bands until I graduated from high school.

Then I joined the Army (oh boy!). They made a man out of me.

While in the Army I played in the Washington D.C. area and in Maryland.
Then onto Hawaii (great gig!). Before I knew it, 4 years had gone by

and I was honorably discharged from Uncle Sam. I took a job in the

great state of Alaska (pretty, but cold) and played with a few groups

there.

In 1984, I moved here to the super fantastic state of North Carolina

(woo hoo!!) and joined the Just Us band, playing country and old

southern rock. I was with that band for one year. Next was the

Galloway Brothers band playing cover country, rock and blues.

I played lead guitar with them about a year. Then with good friend,

Tim Stalcup, we formed a small cover band called Badd Habbitz.

We played venues in Brevard NC, Hendersonville NC, and Pickens SC.

In 1994, we formed the group Curtis Jones and played mainly top 40 country and southern rock. We had great local success and produced a

cd titled "Curtis Jones, Out of the Sticks", with 8 original tracks from

cry in your beer country to swamp funk to an almost eerie, dreamy

Pink Floyd sounding cut called Into the Nite.

The band broke up in 2000 and for the last 6 yrs I've played lead guitar, bass guitar and sang for a few bar bands and have had a lot of fun and
personal success.

On Jan 28, 2005 I married the love of my life and my best friend,

Terry and things have been going well ever since.
