He is a multi talented, innovative, extremely passionate hip hop visionary. Still growing into his craft, Ez fell in love with music on a church choir as an adolescent. His interest in art and music quickly transitioned into talents. Coming from a spiritual family, Ez’s first musical influence was Gospel Music. As he continued to explore his capabilities he found inspiration in artists like Jadakiss, Ludacris, T.I. and Kanye West. Jumping from one talent to the next, he spent his down time drawing, creating beats and transforming his everyday life experiences into lyrics.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Ez was always drawn to hip hop. In high school he decided to nurture his talent by joining a rap group called M Rots Trust. He began to write to beats that he heard on the radio, some that he created himself and even random combinations of sounds that danced around in his head. Realizing that he could write to just about any beat that he came across he became more confident in his talents and even branched out and started making beats for local artists. When he was 17, after about two months of creating beats for one group of artists in particular, he was invited to a studio session. It was on that day that he showcased his lyrical abilities to a brand that would eventually become his family. Recognizing his passion for his craft, and his peculiar attraction to weird beats and his unique sound, Black Colla Entertainment welcomed him with open arms.
His affiliation with Black Colla enticed him to dig deeper and to expand his content. At that time their motto was, “if it aint real, it aint right”, which challenged him to explore other options in expressing his reality; which has proven to be beneficial to both Ez and his fan base. His content is genuine and his energy is captivating. He lays everything that he has on the beat, take it or leave it. Ez began performing in various arenas, showcasing his talent at local venues in an attempt to make business connections and to get his name out there. When asked about his memory of his first performance he said that he had been set free, that rapping was a natural high. Shortly after Joining Black Colla Ez was featured on a compilation project t entitled “The Last of The Best”. He went on to drop “Fun’s Ova”, his first solo mix tape in 2008, which was followed by two additional solo projects as well as another compilation.
Most recently, Ez has been working on his next masterpiece; he plans to call it “Aurafied”. The hope is that you will continue to listen and to spread his Gospel while his aura speaks volumes through his lyrics, as you so easily fall in love with his art, again and again. His music can’t be compressed into one specific genre. As he explained it “you can’t fit a human being into a genre because there are too many sides to being human.” He allows his listeners to navigate with him through his highs and his lows. His genius is in an element of it’s own and his dedication to mastering his art has earned him that right. Ride with him as he so effortlessly captures your heart while captivating your mind. It’s Ez.
