Biography:

Back in 2007, guitarist Joey Wilkinson embarked on a side project while working with his band Saint Caine. Saint Caine, another incarnation of Universal Records Artists Dropbox, just finished a tour with Godsmack and was feeling restless. So he searched out local musicians to jam with. The first on board was drummer Scott O’Ferrall. Scott got a call from a mutual friend, telling him Joey was looking for a drummer and he was the first person that came to mind. Guitarist John “J” Heintz was a guitar player Joey knew from an older band they shared and toured with, and called him up to join his new project. After a few line up changes, Piston Driven recruited bassist AJ Tesoriero. AJ was brought into the fold as Scott jammed with him in a cover band prior to joining Piston Driven. Lastly, singer/lyricist Michael ‘Fern” Fernbacher, formerly of Roadrunner Recording Artists The Step Kings was the final piece of the puzzle for the guys to complete the songs that became The Building of Rock. The Building of Rock was released in May of 2009, followed by a video for the first single, “Hang Loose”. Unfortunately, soon after filming the video, Fern exited the band due to family obligations. The band continued, but the original five members that recorded T.B.O.R. were what kept the spirit of the band fun and creative. In 2016, it was decided to put The Building of Rock record online via streaming and for licensing possibilities. This venture underlined what the guys always thought all along: THESE SONGS NEEDED TO BE HEARD WORLDWIDE. Although all the guys are involved in other projects and tend to their families, the possibility to following up The Building of Rock grows stronger by the day. Until then, put the pedal to the floor and crank up The Building of Rock!
