Skreet who is a music mogul ready to give P. Diddy a run for his money, with his In House production studio under his Slash Entertainment Company anything less than big will not be taken into consideration. When asked about the name origin of Slash entertainment, Skreet describes that the name found them. “Since we offer so many talents and multi faceted skills’ coming up with a specific title was difficult. We found ourselves saying producer/rapper/writer and realized Slash would represent our countless capabilities”. A low key man that follows a code of ethics D.I Skreet models his name after his own personality. D. I. stands for Demonstrating Illinois and that is what motivates him everyday, to put his home on the map and be a role model for his community. D.I. Skreet’s grandmother and the poverty of his home, East St. Louis influences him everyday. Talking with him I can sense the fire in his voice “It only takes one person to put their city on the map” he says. Dedication, humility and consistency are the three words that he feels best describe him. Skreet started in his early teens by writing music and taking drum lessons. Entering St. Louis College of pharmacy at the age of 17, D.I Skreet studied to be a pharmacy technician for a year and a half, but his natural talent kept reminding him of what he was put on earth to do. So at 17, through years of putting his natural talent on the back burner, Skreet thought profoundly of finally turning his gift into a full fledged career. Kings of the Midwest consist of three members, each from Missouri, Indiana and Illinois. Even more unique is the sound of the music he makes, with admirations of UGK and Outkast, he believes his personality mix is Big Boy grind with and Andre 3000 flow.
