Sauce blends elements of funk, reggae, soul and trance-fusion to create a recipe featuring three-part harmonies, catchy-yet-textured, groove based hooks, and dynamic polyrhythms. The band’s performances showcase their energy and dedication with skillful execution and a dash of graceful improvisation. Keyboardist Matt Odabashian brings his bold virtuosity and passionate voice to the table while guitarist Pat Condon provides smooth tenor vocals, articulate phrasing and tasteful solos. Sauce’s lead vocalist Jon Tierney is a two-time winner of the Providence Phoenix music poll for Best Male Singer who also took home the 2011 Motif music award for Best Male Vocalist. Providence Phoenix music critic Bob Gulla writes: “The Big-voiced Tierney...has the stage presence of a mountain right before an avalanche, and his profound, deeply quivering voice adds character to his heartfelt vibe.” Rounding out the band is the rhythm section, a seamless combination of the complex, controlled drumming of Russ Miller and the fearless dexterity of Taylor Munson on bass. After only two years, Sauce has built an enthusiastic following, both in their home state of Rhode Island and throughout New England, keeping their audiences dancing and leaving them shouting “Love that Sauce!”
