What do Janet Jackson, Madonna, Quincy Jones and Jimmy Buffett have in common? The Soulful, sultry voice of Nadirah Shakoor! 1992-1994 Nadirah Shakoor as featured female vocalist of Hip Hop group Arrested Development received a Grammy nomination,an MTV Video award and released 3 solo albums: "Soul Power” produced by Speech, "NadirahSongs" and "Obsessed With Peace"', both collaborations with producer & world renowned DJ Osunlade (Yoruba Records). In 1995 Nadirah joined Jimmy Buffett’s band. Her 4th CD, “Nod to the Storyteller” is a tribute to him. It was produced by the 9 time CMA Musician of the Year, Mac McAnally. The CD features three bands: Jimmy Buffetts's Coral Reefer Band,Nadirah's band Outside Art and acclaimed slide guitarist Sonny Landreth's band. After it’s release Nadirah and her drummer brother Rasheed Shakoor were inspired to form “Outside Art” 4 soulful musicians presently rehearsing, writing, recording, performing & perfecting their live show. As I type this Nadirah and Outside Art are in the studio recording a new CD which will be available by Spring of 2018!

“Live review: The historic Palias Royal, in Toronto. Midway through the set Nadirah Shakoor, whom many will remember from Arrested Development blew the crowd away performing her smash hit Tree of Life. The words of the song, fully enraptured the whole crux of Osunlade’s soul jerking orgasmic set.
