Biography:

"The Back Row Kings are a Portland (by-way-of-Spokane, WA) band that has people talking. With their infectious grooves, intense live performances, and spot-on musicianship they have quickly become the live show of choice for those burnt out on mediocre local bands. Their post-pop, indie-prog anthems have been getting caught in everyone's head, and just like the band themselves they just don't know when it's time to leave."

After releasing their debut EP, "Giving Away the Ending" in 2008, The Back Row Kings were voted "Best New Artist of 2008" at the 4th annual Sommy Awards presented by thesomshow.com. They released a second, much shorter EP in the Fall of 2009 entitled "In Between Empires."

They have played shows with bands such as Secret and Whisper, Aiden and Shiny Toy Guns. TBRK has also been fortunate enough to win the annual Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands and had the opportunity to play the Ernie Ball stage at Van's Warped Tour.

In 2010 Stephen Peterson and Daniel Nelson relocated to Portland, OR and since then Stephen has started taking classes at a local collage and Daniel has had his first child, a son. The Back Row Kings are currently in the process of recording the follow up to, "Giving Away the Ending" and will again be working with producer Joe Varela, owner of Black Lab Studios.

As life has inevitably steered the band to the back burner a few times over the years, they have continued to write and record as the inspiration strikes.
