Mike Levy has a career that spans the world of music production. Mike is an accomplished bassist (acoustic and electric), pianist, guitarist, vocalist, and drummer. Mike is equally as skilled and comfortable on the other side of the mixer. In the studio, Mike has been responsible for numerous projects ranging from producing rock and pop albums to composing music for film and television. A professional musician since the age of 15, Mike attended the University of South Florida and Berklee College of Music before leaving to tour with the Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau Band in 1994 at the age of 19. He landed in NYC after that where he spent his time playing with various funk, R&B, jazz, and folk artists. Performance credits include Ira Sullivan, Louis Bellson, Lenny Welsch, The Platters, The Drifters, Don Rickles and Kenny Drew, Jr., and David “Fathead” Newman. Mike now lives in beautiful Tucson, AZ with his wife and two children. He continues to collaborate with artists across the country as well as operating his recording studio, 11:11 Studios.
“Migliazza’s strong left-hand stride style is matched by Levy’s popping base lines that invigorate the boogie-meister’s upbeat spirit. Canelos’ job is to make his drumming bulky enough to keep all this spontaneous energy flowing in one direction, which he does no matter the pace.
The Clamdiggers are a two-headed party animal, for sure, on the three tunes written by the band. Levy takes the lead on “Lizard,” making it a mid-tempo romp with a distinctly jump blues feel. When Migliazza launches into more boogie-woogie on “Fessaround,” Levy matches the pianist’s flamethrower frenzy with bass work that is solid counterpoint.”

"I'd like to recommend you Nossa Bosa Nova... Nossa Bosa Nova seems to be the biggest Elis fan because some songs are from single cuts and limited editions. The arrangement of tracks is wonderfully done. You can feel the arranger's intentions to bring up nuance of original. The album formation is simple, guitar, keyboard, piano, flute, drum and percussion. But that is clearly arranger's intention to preserve essence of the original. Also you cannot possibly ignore the modest tone of vocal... At the first glance, it is only an Elis's cover album, but the album has more to it. As you listen to it more and more, you can find yourself being enchanted by this album. Maybe it's because of its wide range of repertoire. I hope that all Elis Regina fans listen to this album and it would be interesting to know what they think of it. Thanks to Suzu Igarashi for the translation."
