Our boys, Tony, Lanny, and Craig, were members of a regionally successful rock band in the late 60's and early 70's. Their local hit record "Little By Little" was picked up by Herb Albert and A&M Records. Their aspirations of national success, however, never materialized and the members eventually went their separate ways into various careers. After forty years, these creative spirits have rejoined and rekindled the desire to make original music for their generation. A generation of listeners they believe have been abandoned and mistakenly left to their "golden years". They intend to clutter it with golden records. Reforming the group now in 2016 with the addition of Mark Lansing, Larry Koehn, and Leroy Zimdars, the new Tygers are out there again playing their own music and their personal favorites from the 60's.
“First and foremost, this is a great album: 10 fast paced, kinda-country, faintly-folky, sorta-soft-rocky cuts that put you in mind of a host of forebears, none so much as late-period 10cc (the harmonies and bounce), with a dash of Raspberries, Steely Dan and The Beach Boys thrown in for luck.
Slinky in places ("Night Walker"), haunting in others ("Voo Doo"), "Second Album" is the kind of record that not enough people make these days; beautifully melodic and exquisitely arranged, it's that rare breed of well-mannered pop rock that leaks out of your late-night stereo with a cocktail in its hand and all maner of things on its mind. It's classy--ha, and when was the last time you heard an album like that?

Jeff Boule - Looney Tunes CD
““These are short and direct songs with lovely arrangements and lush vocal harmonies and if they weren't new songs I could easily hear them alongside the classic songs on the oldies station. It is great news for all of us that The Tygers have shared this new music with us.””
Jamesd Graham - Ear Candy Magazine
“Always tongue-in-cheek but never going for pastiche, it's one of the most adorable records of 2010.

“Don't miss Simon Barrett's internet interview with Tony and Lanny of The Tygers. It's also available in the groups mp3 section.”

“Well, there is something to be said for taking the time to get it right. The Tygers’ first album was released in the 1960’s and the follow up release is just now coming out in 2010. Mind you, they broke up for an extended period of time and are just now getting back together. The music here is modern, but well rooted in those 1960’s sounds. Frankly, this doesn’t sound dated in terms of delivery or recording, but the music itself could have definitely been written, recorded and released in the 1960’s. It’s a good disc that isn’t far off of early progressive rock in a lot of ways.

Norbert Neugebauer - Rocktimes
“A few weeks back we told you that The Tygers had just released their second album (called simply "Second Album"!!!)
What makes that such big news is the fact that the band released their FIRST album back in 1968!!!”
Kent Kotal - Forgotten Hits
“The Tygers' Second Album is essentially period music from the 1960's, but made fresh and inviting for our day. If you remember those days or merely want to hear an authentic and vital representation from that time, then you must pick up their Second Album.”
Craig Hartranft - Danger Dog Music Reviews
““Hey, this is great! Nicely crafted tunes, smooth harmonies, good mix. I'm a picky bastard, but this is one of the best CDs that has crossed my desk in a long time. Nice fusion of '60s Crosby-Stills-Nash, Association, Classics IV then some '70s pop elements. Nice!””
