Leigh plays original blues-roots and folk music, contemporary and inspired yet connecting strongly to its roots. With deep grooves, exciting contrasts, distinctive husk-tinged vocals and compelling musicianship on open tuned and lap-slide guitar,
H released his first album ‘Sliding to Your Destiny’ in 2006. In 2008 he released ‘Looking for the Clues’, about which Mark S. Tucker - Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange wrote - "...a perfect blend of folk and blues, one of the best I've ever heard." At the end of August 2012 Leigh released his new album 'More Than I Need' which was produced by Australian guitar virtuoso Nick Charles.
Some events Leigh has been invited to perform at include; Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival, Tamar Valley Folk festival, Palm Creek Folk Festival, Mount Beauty Music Festival, Main Street Mornignton Festival, Marysville Jazz and Blues Weekend, 3MDR's The Big Gig, MBAS Victorian & Tasmanian Blues Music Awards, Mt. "Leigh Sloggett is a Melbourne based acoustic roots guitarist and singer songwriter who creates wonderful moods and grooves with catchy melodies and direct lyrical images. Swapping from lap to regular guitars he pays homage to earlier icons without being an imitator and the results leave an indelible and at times dark image. He’s a regular performer on the folk and blues circuit and definitely one to keep an eye out for."
Nick Charles - Rhythms Magazine
