Biography:

History: Mortal Sin began in the western suburbs of Sydney in the mid 80's and by 1987 had become the country's most important thrash metal act. Their debut album Mayhemic Destruction found favour offshore and won them an international record deal on a major label. The album quickly raised their profile & when time came to record a second album, renowned producer Randy Burns was called in to record Face of Despair. Metal Forces magazine and Mega Metal Kerrang quickly had Mortal Sin gracing the front covers of the day and huge things were being tipped for the thrashers from Australia. Tours with Metallica, Testament & Faith No More followed on Australian, European & American fronts.

The decade of the Nineties saw the whole metal scene decimated by the new movement that spread across America, with Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam & Red Hot Chili Peppers taking the music world by storm. This hurt a lot of metal bands & Mortal Sin struggled through this period with just two recordings - Rebellious Youth in 1991 on Metal for Nations label & Revolution of the Mind in 1997. This period also saw Mortal Sin put their aspirations on hold.

In February 2004 Mortal Sin resurfaced with the added strength of former Addictive guitarists Joe Buttigieg & Mick Sultana. 2005 saw Mortal Sin inducted into the Kerrang Australia Heavy Metal Hall Of Fame. The band also welcomed two new members that year in Luke Cook (drums) & Nathan Shea (guitar) with a tour of Australia with Metal icons Anthrax. Mortal Sin then entered the studios in October with producer Phil McKellar to record a CD single Out of the Darkness. After a show in Hamburg with Aussie legends Rose Tattoo & an appearance at the infamous Wacken Open Air Festival, Mortal Sin returned to the Megaphon Studios to complete the long awaited new album. In April 2007 Mortal Sin opened for Slayer & Mastodon then signed with German label Armageddon Music & Riot Entertainment within Australia for the release of An Absence of Faith.
The Absence of Faith tour included Europe in March 2008 with New York Thrash Kings Overkill, also appearing with Megadeth at Metal Mania & Destruction at Inferno Festival. Four Months later Mortal Sin returned to Europe once again for the summer festival season, with shows at Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany, Jalometalli Festival in Finland, Alcatraz Festival in Belgium & Head Bangers Open Air Festival in Germany. Upon returning to Australia Mortal Sin also played support to legendary bands such as Judas Priest, Testment & Kreator.
After a tour through South America in late 2009 Mortal Sin welcomed new guitarist Ryan Huthnance to the Mortal Sin family in May 2010 & plans to record a new album began in earnest. Producer Darren Jenkins was the man behind the controls & the new album Psychology of Death was finished & will be released on 23/09/11.
