The Machine of Sledgegrinder formed 2 years ago and we have been moving faster and harder everyday since the Beginning. We are signed to Dark Harvest and play brutal Tampa Bay Death Metal
““Sledgegrinder is a perfect fit for Dark Harvest Records and our plans for aggressive growth, and a rejuvenation of the extreme metal scenes. Aggressive, driven and insanely talented we knew this was an act we had to work with” stated Jay Burton from DHR. Dark Harvest founder and CEO Dan Paris commented “I watched this band develop and grow and saw how much they have accomplished on their own and in such a short period of time. There's just nasty raw metal here! And all the protooled crap in metal now just makes bands like this one so much more impressionable to the ears. I love bands who sound like metal should sound, nasty and raw, these guys have it!”

Tampa-based, thrash, hardcore metal band releases Through
the Conveyor EP in advance of impending world domination.
November 23, 2010
Tampa, Florida: SLEDGEGRINDER, a thrash, hardcore, death metal band based in the Tampa Bay area has just self-released a four-song EP Through the Conveyor, currently available at Sledgegrinder shows and online through Reverbnation. Fronted by the brutal, growling voice of Alex Gallegos, Sledgegrinder combines unapologetic, in-your-face lyrics with intelligent melodies and complex arrangements to offer a level of music quality uncommon for such a young, developing band. Sledgegrinder’s style and sound could easily be compared to the likes of metal superstars such as Pantera, Metallica, Lamb of God or Slayer. Sledgegrinder is currently working to build a local area following, quickly becoming a staple of the Tampa-area metal scene, while investigating possible touring opportunities.

“Up-and-coming local death metal rockers Sledgegrinder hit the State Theatre stage recently as a support act for fellow death metal band The Absence. While still working to cement a line-up and find their groove, Sledgegrinder seems poised to make an impact in their chosen genre. (pic by Jeff O’Kelley)
Sledgegrinder is Alex Gallego (vocals), Brad Balsama (guitar), Mike Longo (guitar, vocals), Nathan Dahlvik (bass) and Matthew Solka (drums).”
