Biography:

Terry McNeal has performed music since the age of 5.  Starting on the piano Terry was classically trained for 7 years through private piano lessons.  At the age of 12 he picked up his first guitar, started his first rock and roll band, and began what would be a 25 year career of performing, singing, playing, and entertaining crowds at private parties, school dances, teen clubs, night clubs, and ultimately on the professional circuit of night clubs and concert tours.  In the late seventies Terry was signed as a singer/songwriter at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals.  Writing and recording literally hundreds of songs along the way he moved from Fame Studios to East Avalon Recording in Muscle Shoals to House of Gold Publishing in Nashville.  All during this time he maintained bands to do live shows and showcases for record companies.  Finally in the mid 1980s Terry was signed to CBS/Epic Records to record an album.  He moved to Memphis where he recorded the album with seasoned studio musicians from Memphis, Nashville, and Los Angeles.  Guests on the album included Jimmie Jamison of Survivor and Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie and the Jeff Beck Group.  Terry toured with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Greg Allman, and Molly Hatchet as the opening act while promoting the release of the record which was entitled "First Touch."  Despite excellent pre-release reviews of the album, it was never released due to business differences within the record label.  Terry moved back to Alabama, entered the University of Alabama in Huntsville and earned a bachelors degree in optical physics.  He picked up his music career again in 2001 when he got the call to write and record Christ centered, spiritually inspired songs.  In 2002 he released his self-produced album "A Work in Progress."  With his band The Terry McNeal Band, Terry did concerts with the likes of Jars of Clay, Down Here, and Chris Tomlin.  He also played concerts for mission trips from Alaska to Louisiana.  Terry continues to write and record songs about life, love, and his in depth observations of world events and the human condition, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
