Biography:

Heinz Karnitschar and David Barnes first worked together on a song called CAKEWALK BLUES. This was an online collaboration effort between 7 Cakewalk Forum Members. A few very creative weeks later, the two of them started to work together on Heinz’s own songs. Soon they decided to form a band, a temporary online band, if you will. It was a great way to combine their talents, ideas and creativity into one project: THE HEINZ DAVID PROJECT.

Not long afterwards, Leona, David's wife, also joined this project.

Since December of 2006, all of Heinz's songs [he had composed back in the 1990s], as well as some brand new ones, have been recorded and released under this name.

On January 1, 2008 - 'The Heinz-David Project' was renamed BLUE SAHARA.

In October of 2008 their debut album titled 'Through Dreams To Reality' has been released. The CD is available at CD Baby, and MP3 downloads at iTunes and Napster.

Due to many personal reasons, BLUE SAHARA went on hiatus early in 2010. But the way muse is - it came back with a vengance.

Fast forward a few years. Late 2014.

Leona, David and Heinz are back making music, rekindled by Heinz's new-found inspirations. BLUE SAHARA happily recruited their newest band members: Leon Doublet and Cerise Eugenio. These two youngsters will provide youth to our songs as well as inspiration writing them.
BLUE SAHARA will continue adding guest musicians to their songs as they did in the past: Anita Pooli, Claudia Pooli, Natasha and Robin Karnitschar, Frank Arsenault, Farrell Jackson, Mel Barnett ... to name only a few individuals who've helped us create awesome songs in the past.

BLUE SAHARA's songs will sound different to many of our followers. Perhaps more modern, heavier, darker ... most definately a departure of what we created on our CD. Our last single, 'Days Like That' [supported by Mel Barnett's awesome lryics] was a hint to what was to come.

Our band may have grown. Our sound may have changed. But, we're still what we always were: BLUE SAHARA. :)
