Biography:

The Shadowpunk Grind began in the early 1990's at the Packing House in Claremont, where they and other local bands rented rehearsal space. Band members Chris Stenmo, Kevin Cook Paul Comi Jr. and Louie Carcavallo after a short period of rehearsals chose the name Grind. Calling their sound Shadowpunk, they soon gained recognition as a band that embraced the darker side of reality with provocative songs ranging from obsessions in the age of greed, the destruction of ideas and the impending police state which is now on the rise. Their existence was short lived however they did manage an epic recording session of their 1993 EP Grind "This is Shadowpunk". It was intended to be an LP but was delayed due to external problems of identity and trademark that plagued the group as another band with the same name began to stalk them with threats of legal action due to the use of the Grind name. "It was our name. We had it first," said Bassist Chris Stenmo. "It just proved that it was a cool name that we had been using for almost 2 years already." Without compromising and changing their name, the group suddenly disbanded after playing their final show at the Whiskey in Hollywood in the summer of 1993. For now please enjoy the remnants of these four creative individuals and feel free to drop us a line with your thoughts about the music and work known as Shadowpunk.
