Tyler Stafford has quickly become a staple in the Northern Nevada music scene. A home-grown talent, the 28 year old has played some of the biggest stages that Reno has to offer and has cultivated a loyal following that can’t get enough of his dynamic performances. His songs often draw comparisons to songwriters such as John Mayer and James Taylor delivered with a candor reminiscent of early Dave Matthews.
The release of his first studio album “On a String,” to a crowd of 400 at the Hawkin’s Amphitheater in the Fall of 2011, a spot on the list of the Reno Gazette Journal’s Top Albums of 2011, and an invitation to play at the annual Americana Music Festival in Virginia City in the Summer of 2012 highlight some of the songwriter’s most recent accomplishments.
"A delicate guitar pattern, a distant wordless choir, a deep, underlining organ, a string section that swoops in and out, and a hushed vocal melody seemingly sung an inch from the ear: “Stand back waiting on a dream that will never return. I sit back thinking of ideas that’ll never be heard.”
On a String, Reno troubadour Tyler Stafford’s forthcoming album, is a work of remarkable intimacy."
Bradley Bynum - Reno News and Review
“A smooth voice, simple guitar licks and a down to earth feel give his music a special rawness.”
