Biography:

You could call her the prophet for lost souls and broken hearts. Writing words to evoke the struggles of life. She appeals to the many layers of human complexity. Not just an angry poet by any means, she's the definition of a passionate manipulator of prose.
Her stage presence is undeniable, perhaps that is due to her 5'10" stature and zoftig frame, either way you can not deny the power of her words to paint images innately connected to the human psyche.
Once you have heard her, you won't soon forget that this was the poet that gave you goose bumps with a smile.

Press:

“Knickie D. (Brooklyn, NY) as she's best known is a phenomenal conversationalist. She communes with the ears, hearts, minds and souls of many through her advocation of spoken word poetry. Yet to categorize her as just a poet is an inappropiate designation. Much more than your typical poet, Knickie D. is an artist in a literal and figurative sense. Her creative and intellectual faculties coupled with her experiences allow Knickie D. to paint while at the same time etch vivid imagery in the mind. ”
A. L. Roberts - Why Blue Matters

“Knickie D the poet is not afraid to show her vulnerable side. If she needs to be loved, she's not afraid to express it. If she doesn't like you or your pathetic excuse for poetry, she'll express it (artisticlly). On the other hand, if she loves your work, she'll be your cheerleader to the end (It wasn't until interviewing her that I found out I was her favorite underground emcee!) But in true West Indian form, Knickie will tell you off if she doesn't agree with you.....just read the rant at the end of her 1st poetry book "The Not-So-Hostile-Take-Over" where she dedicates the entire last page of her book to talking about how she will not "fix her face" just because YOU think her disposition suggests she has a problem.”
