At the lonesome crossroads where country and metal intersect, stand two swaggering badasses holding acoustic guitars.
They're not interested in your soul they have plenty of soul already.
Cult favorites WhiskeyDick blow minds with a double barrel blast of dreadnaught shredding
and hillbilly bellowing that makes you want to knock back a shot, stand up tall, and holler "Oh-hell-yeehaw!"
The Fort Worth duo carry on the Texas traditions of super-powered guitar slinging and clever songwriting that make
lone star music a worldwide curiosity, except Reverend Johnson will remind you more of Dimebag Darrell than
Billy Gibbons and Fritz remains more lyrically akin to David Allen Coe than Robert Earl Keen.
WhiskeyDick's live show is a true spectacle: two giant, tattooed, mean-looking dudes saunter on stage and sit down
in wooden folding chairs, then pick up acoustic guitars and proceed to amaze everyone by generating more power than
a full band by means of Fritz's deep, rich vocals, Johnson's unapproachable acoustic guitar heroics, and their triumphant songwriting.
"We're just a train robbin', gun totin', dope smokin', guitar pickin' muthafuckin' good time band. Taking hillbilly music and spreading it across the land."
Their lyrics are their lives. The duo plays over 200 shows year, bringing their country-fried, no-collar sensibilities to small towns and big cities
across America, United Kingdom and Europe have built faithful followers throughout. On their travels, they've shared stages with the likes of Ray Wylie Hubbard, Shooter Jennings, HellYeah, Scott H. Biram,
Pentagram, Foghat, Joe Buck Yourself, Antiseen, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Honky, Bob Wayne, Nashville Pussy, Reverend Horton Heat, Weed Eater, .357 String Band, Honky and The Supersuckers.
The metal-neck tandem, who formed in 2005, has produced 7 indie releases Rebel Flags and Whiskey, First Class White Trash, Drunk as Hell, The Wicked Roots, 100% Drunk Live Album, WhiskeyDick it Happens Ep and From The Devil's Boots which yielded such live classics as "Evil's Got a Hold of Me," "Shooting Guns," "Barn Burner," "River of Sin," "Blacktooth Grin," "Fallen Heroes," "YEEHAW", "Christina", and the rarely performed, audience favorite "Wookie Pussy."
With their eighth album all most complete and a 8 month USA and international tour for 2014, WhiskeyDick stands ready to introduce themselves to the world as the YEEHAW SOUND OF TEXAS.
“Whiskeydick is a band most people will form an immediate opinion of. When you hear the name it’s easy to think of some super offensive and in-your-face cowpunk band. If you go for that, you might enjoy some of the things they do, but that’s not all this band is about. It’s just two guys laying it down on acoustic guitars with some bad ass soloing and heartfelt lyrics. They like to get rowdy, but Whiskeydick can bring it. Fritz can rip your heart out while Reverend Johnson is simultaneously melting faces. Their new album From The Devil’s Boots is a bit more on the mellow side of what Whiskeydick does, and that is a good thing.”

“'Drunk As Hell' and 'The Wicked Roots'2010s 'Drunk As Hell' kicks off with the blistering country of 'Redemption' and just keeps on going with tales of hick town woes, regrets and drunken debauchery.
Of course, I suppose the big question is do these albums belong on MetalTalk?
Well, yes they do and I'll tell you why.
These albums may have too much of a rebel outlaw attitude for the country guys an' dolls and it might be too acoustic and country for some Metal heads and their molls. Yet between the two albums there is not a single song that could not be adapted for a cranked up Les Paul/Marshall combo; clean, no add ons.”

“WHISKEYDICK is a two man operation that describe themselves “Acoustic metal-neck Country.” How’s that for original? The energetic duo hail from Fort Worth, Texas and forged a musical partnership after meeting from their respective metal bands. This is high-octane music, folks As for the show WHEW! I told them boys they “make my heart happy” and I meant it, I’ve been listening to them for a year now In November 2011, VQ & crew (Wayne & Hobo) made the trip to North Carolina to pick up our partner in crime and ‘tour manager’ Mr. Bandana. We planned on attending Black Eyed Vermillionn the six years WHISKEYDICK has been together they have released 4 cds .For three hours WHISKEYDICK played their own original music, including “Grave Keeper’s Dance” which is not yet released, “Black Tooth Grin” a tribute song to Pantera, and many more. It’s hard to pick which one I love Most. WHISKEYDICK paid respects to their own heroes by doing an excellent selection of cover so”

“Only review my drunk stoned ass could find it's not about the album but who gives a shit "Comprised of two dudes you’d hate to run into in a dark alley, this Fort Worth southern rock team had the place jumping. You’ve never heard an acoustic guitar played with more fury. Their songs are mostly about two things, drinking and being an outlaw. We're interested to hear their new album coming out soon, appropriately titled Drunk as Hell." The song wookie pussy makes this shit worth it with chewbacca sounds and all.”

“The talented duo Whiskeydick also took it away with a rough and rugged display of outlaw country. Their game consisted of kickin’ ass and takin’ names, drinkin’ whiskey and chasin’ dames. All you really need to know about this band is in the name.”

“I was over in the Music Joint waiting on one of the bands I was anticipating seeing for the first time, WhiskeyDick. These guys brought a set that was heavily flavored with outlaw country with a nod to heavy metal. The two guitarists brought it and wowed the crowd with some killer riffs and soaring guitar solos. A highlight for me was the track “Black Tooth Grin” which is a tribute to the infamous metal band Pantera. Following Whiskey Dick”

“MoonRunner II 2014
WHISKEYDICK – 6:05 P.M. MUSIC JOINT STAGE
OK, I reached a critical mass point where I was like, HOLY SHIT, I HAVE NOT EATEN ALL DAY. And I went over to the Music Joint to catch WhiskeyDick and have some nachos.
BBQ. Sin rivers. Shootin’ guns. This is what you get with WhiskeyDick, a two-piece outta Texas. And really, their bio says it best – “…WhiskeyDick blow minds with a double barrel blast of dreadnaught shredding and hillbilly bellowing that makes you want to knock back a shot, stand up tall, and holler “Oh-hell-yeehaw!”
Agreed.
This is the band that happens when metal meets Southern rock.”

“Outlaw country devotees take note, this is the real deal! The fourth CD offering from this “acoustic” duo (Johnson, lead guitar and Fritz, rhythm guitar and vocals) from Ft. Worth is quite possibly their best yet. Considering the prolific and highly regarded back catalog, “best yet” is no easy feat. Check out youtube videos of the tracks “Drunk As Hell,” “Jim Beam and Me,” and “Wookie Pussy” for examples of previous greatness and fan devotion. The Wicked Roots is the second WHISKEYDICK CD produced by Kurtis D. Machler at Austin’s own Million Dollar Sound Recording Studio.
The barebones instrumentation consisting of one rock-solid acoustic rhythm guitar, one acoustic but sometimes very electrified lead guitar and one powerfully HUGE voice is all that is necessary to get this robust, urban-country sound across. This record is an excellent representation of what these guys do to rooms nightly across the country and frequently in Austin for lucky patrons of Headhunt”

“A lean, vicious country-rock machine from Fort Worth, Texas.Whiskeydick are Fritz and Johnson, two tattooed nutters who got drunk on a case of Jim Beam one night, and decided that country music needed to go back to its outlaw roots. So, they left their previous metal bands behind, got into mixing up Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Black Label Society, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Pantera, and went down the road to salvation, via Hell. The pair sing about drinking, smoking, raising cane, getting kick out of bars and thrown in jail. They do close to 200 shows per year, and have just released an album called Rebel Flags And Whiskey on their own label, appropriately called 1st Class White Trash. These guys are the sort who wrap their bikes around a lamp-post, and then get high on the exhaust fumes.
