Biography:

Retrogramme is a Washington DC-based electronic music act that has cultivated a strong underground buzz with their wide-range of sophisticated electronic styles and influences. Rob Early, the principal synthesist and programmer, Nikk Allen, the primary songwriter, Jenna Christensen and Dmitry Pavlovsky on vocals, weave IDM, synthpop, darkwave, and ambient sounds into their own distinctive style which is easily identifiable as Retrogramme.

"Final Verdict 4 out of 5 Stars"
Gabe Wilkinson - Coma Music Magazine

"Retrogramme stands for a particular experience in sound. When intelligence and creativity join hands you get the CD “For Our Dearly Departed”. This is a beautiful challenge:.
DP - Side-Line Magazine

“2 years of hard labour result in an electronically powered, exciting flow, multilayered dance music with eye for detail, warm rhythms and refined depth, worth your attention and your Euro’s.”
Didier PIETERS - Peek-A-Boo Magazine

“The latest album from Retrogramme, For Our Dearly Departed, blends elements of Electro, EBM, IDM and Pop hooks to create varied moods across a soundscape that flows organically from track to track. Rare for an Electronic band, none of the tracks ever seem to repeat themselves even as they all feature the same formula of ambient layers and mostly ethereal vocals floating over slightly glitchy loops and slick production values. ”
Pyra Draculea - The Spill Magazine

“For Our Dearly Departed does as any good second album should and presents a band putting forth a significant effort not to repeat itself. Indeed, Early, Allen, and Pavlovsky with their associates have crafted a finely assorted blend of rhythmic and melodic electro music that expands on their previous formulas while adhering to their inherent mix of experimentalism and mass appeal.”
Ilker Yucel - ReGen Magazine

“Retrogramme first popped up on our radar with their smoking remix of the title track from The Present Moment’s The High Road. A heavily beefed up bit of work, it added some phased, dark electro textures, some classic synthpop leads, and a killer dance arrangement, all of which conspired to elevate the melody at the core of Scott Milton’s original. That variety of sounds serves as a good primer to For Our Dearly Departed, the Washington DC act’s sophomore LP.”
Bruce - IDie:YouDie

"With production that's not possible to criticise, and an array of dazzling remixes, Retrogramme are an act that with summer forming, would make the perfect in-car soundtrack".
Nick Quarm - Brutal Resonance Zine

“Overall “For our dearly departed” is a very divers, contrastry and ambitioned album. No wonder that Retrogramme have already been compared to New Order, Underworld, Gary Numan or other classic electronic acts. Everybody who likes electronic music with substans and beyond limited genres, will enjoy this record.”
Ina Pusch - Neuweltmusic Magazine

“Retrogramme is relatively new on the scene, but the distinct sound and studio production skill will soon put this band in the know of fans of electronic music within a wide spectrum.”
Stephen Lussier - ReGen Magazine

“Retrogramme are smart, talented, and really know how to create an electronic aural sense of foreboding in a five track CD.”
Dark Grave eZine

“Retrogramme are American e-friends of mine who just released a self-financed 10-track album of pounding beats and soulful synths... electronica with a heart!”
Tom Robinson - BBC6
