As with most things Richie Fields does, the 2012 release of his newest CD “Smile” is creating a lot of energy and excitement and leaving fans everywhere, well, smiling! His first single off the CD, the title track “Smile”, was officially released to country radio and recently became Richie’s fourth charted single.
“Smile”, produced in Franklin, TN at the renowned Sound Kitchen, is Richie’s third album and this time he wrote or co-wrote all 13 track on there. “There is a true story behind most every song on this album,” says Richie, and listeners will be hard pressed to listen to the CD without finding something that strikes a chord within their own lives. The ballads are dripping with love and love lost, the mid-tempo tunes reflect a certain maturity of a singer/songwriter who has lived out some of life’s lessons, and the up-tempo rockin’ numbers are clever, sometimes funny, and will have you jumping out of your seat, kicking up your heels and singing along!
Richie Fields' smooth country baritone has already given this up-and-coming recording artist four well-received radio singles and a #1 music video for “Man Enough To Cry” (Y'all Wire). Known for his energetic live shows and ability to connect with his audience, Richie has toured nationally, playing at many of the country’s most renowned venues, and has opened for many of Country Music’s biggest names. Most recently, Richie and his band opened for Darius Rucker at House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ as well as Randy Houser and Casey James at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD. They also opened the show for WPOC’s “Sunday in the Country”, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in late 2011, in a lineup including Josh Turner, Joe Nichols, The Band Perry, Brantley Gilbert, Steel Magnolia, Hunter Hayes, and Frankie Ballard.
Richie has previously been acknowledged on CMA's “Who New To Watch” list, as well as making his debut in Country Weekly magazine’s "Who's New" feature. Richie made his national television debut on Inside Music Row and appears in the recently released motion picture “9-Ball”. He and his band will be taking a bus full of fans with them to Nashville again in June 2014, where they will perform for the 7th straight year during the CMA Music Festival.
In the recent past, recording sessions with producer J. Gary Smith (Andy Griggs, Lonestar) generated two charted radio singles on Music Row from Richie’s second CD “Down Memory Lane” (2010). The emotionally charged tune “Losing You” was followed up by the hard driving single “Wichita” which climbed it’s way to #1 on the Indie World Chart. The single “Devil In The Mirror” from Richie’s first CD “Man Enough To Cry” (2008) also charted on Music Row and has remained a fan favorite.
Currently, Richie and his band are working on recording Richie's 4th album, including their newest single, "When A Good Man Dies" written by Richie and Jonathan Jackson. They have been playing the single live to great reactions at their shows and they are hopeful this song will do well on mainstream country radio. Look for the single to hit radio in spring 2016 as well as an album release later in 2016.

“6/2/2010 Music Row critic Robert Oermann's review of Wichita: "—Dramatic sounding. The descending chords, chiming guitars and stately tempo set up a resonant, throaty baritone who can really deliver the goods. Everything I have heard by this man has been top notch. Surely one of you big labels could use a talent like this." - Robert K. Oermann, MUSIC ROW critic”
