The only pretense to The Highgears is no pretense. Combining their love of 70’s bands such as Thin Lizzy, Grand Funk Railroad, early Aerosmith, and Mountain as well as some of the best their generation has had to offer like The Hellacopters, Clutch, The Golden Gods, and Bad Wizard, they’ve taken this divine inspiration in hopes of showing newer audiences that real rock and roll isn’t packaged in car commercials and cell phone ads, but rather in big riffs and energetic live shows.
““The Highgears are the unruly choir in the church of rock and roll.””
James Madison (The Governer) X107-5
““With the Devil As Their Muse doesn't so much kick the door open and announce the band's arrival as it does take a bulldozer and knock out the entire side of the house. These guys are the Real Thing, and your soul ... well, it doesn't stand a chance. Just as your parents were afraid of.””
Award-winning horror author Gary A. Braunbeck, author of Coffin County
"This is a stoner of a rock band, not afraid to gain their influences from Led Zepplin and Deep Purple. A blindingly awesome band that totally rawks, with a brilliant bass line, riffs and immaculate drumming."
