“Veteran Soul singer veteran, Frederick Davis, rides the crest of a wave, stirred by Ramrock Records' recent re-work of his timeless 'Games'. 'My Gift to You' goes into a similar era, here, heading towards the mid-'80s quiet-storm, once led by the likes of Freddie Jackson, Leon Ware and Alexander O'Neal. Abbreviated into today's parlance #MGTY offers another mid-tempo, heartfelt stepper: an uplifting chorus tips the scales to further-enhance his comeback. It is good timing as African-American music fans look back on a special era of songwriting of which this might just stir a revival. Just out and available at the usual www outlets, make certain you support a Soul Survivor..”

“(September 19, 2018) While only making a mark internationally over the past few years Frederick Davis (who goes by simply Frederick) has been a staple for music lovers in the Midwestern US for some time. But the talented singer, songwriter and percussionist is making a full on charge with his adult soul single, “My Gift To You.” Working with Allan Licht and Pete Tokar, Frederick has crafted a song that should connect with music fans looking for a late night love jam, reminiscent of the kind of songs that Freddie Jackson would have released back in the day. Frederick says of the love song, “I look at myself as the messenger for men who feel this way about their woman, but don’t know how to say it. Women crave these words, and hearing it from me can indirectly remind them of how loved they are, or supply the affirmation they need.” Check out the beautiful “My Gift To You,” below, and welcome Frederick to SoulTracks”

“Frederick - Games (North Street Remixes) Mid-'80s Quiet Storm/2-Step Soul/Funk man meets Ashley Beedle for a selection of irresistible remixes. Along with contemporaries of the era - such as Leon Ware, Ronnie McNeir and Glenn Jones - Frederick recorded this track as part of his self-titled LP from 1985. Fast forward to 2017, the insatiable Mr Beedle sought to revive this beauty with a few refreshes. Although frustrated by the unusable master tapes, the man himself decided to produce a full-fat rendition of his original to stand alone, thus providing a foundation for some North Street remixes. Frederick's re-recording is a near-equal to the original: the voice not seeming to have aged over 30-plus years. The remixes add more of the electronic; bass keyboards, analogue synth-textures and claps that undoubtedly put a distinctive stamp of its own, also highlighting the guitar-chords of the original. Within is also a stripped-back mix and an instrumental of the remix. Ramrock Records (Blue)”
