Viti di Titanio (Titanium Screws) were founded by brothers Maurizio and Marcello Vitale in the Italian city of Naples, 2005.
V.d.T. released their first debut self-produced promo “Storie d’amanti e di demoni”(Stories of demons and lovers) recorded by Paolo Messere (former Ulan Bator). Acclaimed enthusiastically from the Italian press they enjoyed popularity performing in many gigs and festival .
In early September 2009 they confirmed their out-standing feedback publishing “Il giro di vite” (The turn of the screw) Ep , first 500 copies in vinyl cd. “Il giro di vite” brings the title from the short novel of Henry James with the same name. In track-list also appear the cover “Amara terra mia” of Domenico Modugno, the famous Italian singer.
In this release the legendary percussionist Giovanni Imparato (Ray Charles, Paco de Lucia and many others) has worked as pre-production assistant and Rodolfo Calandrelli (Markus Stockhausen), Paolo Messere and Luca Coppola as sound engineers .
In the first weeks they received immediate ratings from Italian indie magazine, making many appearances in independent radio and TV shows.
On 25th November 2009 Viti di Titanio performed for the first time in theatre at the historical avant-guard structure ‘Teatro Instabile’ in Naples with a special show including Giovanni Imparato on the percussion and the Italian actress Elena Cepollaro on readings extracted from ‘ The turn of the screw’ H. James . Their show was included in the Festival “SuonInstabili” which also has in line-up Ghost to Falco (U.S.A.) and Vessel(from Giardini di Mirò + Pitch, ITA).
