Biography:

A British Rock band who's music encompasses Traditional, Classic & Progressive Rock, SjW formed in 2005.

SjW's sound is deeply entwined with the past, being influenced by stadium rock acts and power trio super groups such as The Police,Rush, Cream & Kings X. Led Zeppelin & Genesis have without a doubt had an impact on SjW's unique style too.

Moments Of Magnitude SjW’s third release will be available for download on September 1st 2011. The album was again recorded at Bank Cottage Studios with super producer George Shilling during late 2010/early 2011. Moments Of Magnitude is the bands most ambitious record to date featuring 12 brand new and original songs and is just short of 50 minutes in length

Press:

"SjW is catchy and original with their hooks. Killer playing, killer harmonies and did I say killer writing. Every song an ear-worm. I sometimes wake up with 4am in my head. I love this song and everything Simon sends my way."
Dave Davis - independent Share Records

“When you think of music, talent, and great personalities in today's music you need to listen and see SjW perform. SjW rocks the stage and the musical notes to perfection. They are the right fucking band for my very picky ears.”
Dave Darin - SiriusXM

“Just played one of SjW's tracks on my show on Biker FM , really good in fact went down so well I will be playing another track next week on the Geordie show. Thanks for sending over the tracks. Keep an eye on this lot as they will be going places and they have the Geordie seal of good quality!”
Geordie - Bikerfm

“Rock Giants !”
John Harrison - John Harrison Rock Show

"SjW is a fantastic combination of heavy metal/hard rock/progressive rock with shades of Queen, Rush, Pink Floyd, Metallica, and Porcupine Tree (just to name a few)! SjW is a breath of fresh air in a progressiver rock/tech metal world driven by death metal vocals and guitar disonance."
Pete Nowak - WIRQ 90.90 FM Rochester, New York, USA

"Crunchy Melodic Rock with a Progressive background"
Michael Haifl - Streetclip.tv

"The best trio since Rush & Triumph"
Michael Haifl - Streetclip.tv

"SymptomRadio.com is a very proud supporter of the music from SjW. This is not just great sounding and highly polished band. The effort that SjW is making to help raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy is an incredible example of how much integrity is at the root of what makes this band so successful. Keep writing great music SjW and we will keep playing it!"
Sean Odell - SymptomRadio.com

“Definitely great tunes, listening to SjW is a pleasure!! The RUSH influence is absolutely there, yet still very original. Shining vox and excellent production. Especially love Constant Motion!!! Mary Dunham King - MuseBoat Radio”
Mary Dunham King - Museboat Radio

“One of the best unsigned Rock Bands around! If you like your rock loud and heavy then listen to SjW, they are becoming one of the most requested bands on the show. ”
John Forster - DJ - Johns Rock Show - Radio Birmingham

“The words progressive, interesting and the fact that I'm not going to stamp this release with a convenient generic label is sure to put some of you off, but really it shouldn't. This is a really enjoyable, well-rounded collection of songs that has a lot to recommend it to lovers of all kinds of rock.”
Jo Rockpit - The Rock Pit

“If you like the obvious Rush and Yes and Genesis but hanker after bands that have the distinction of say Kings X or pay a passing nod to Queen you should take time to check them out.”
Jo Rock Pit - The Rock Pit

“The album has an old school prog rock feel, particularly Rush, about it – the pretension or grandious nature of an age gone past is there. And this feeling grows with subsequent plays, and yet maintains a modern uniqueness to it. But this album is not a new “relic”, but an album with a modern feel. From the almost 90′s electronic rock sound of “Is This _”, to the guitars on “Heavy Cargo”, to the feel of “You”, all combined seamlessly. Closing with “The Hero & The Tragedy” you are left feeling exhilarated.”
Jon - Rock Regeneration

“Even though the band has been around some time and plays many live performances you may not have heard of them yet but you will! Grab up their latest CD and while you are at it get their other offerings at the same time and rock out to true British rock that has stood the test of time with listeners and continues with SjW.”
Macavity - Muen Magazine

“British rock strikes again in a great way with the latest offering from the band SjW. If you are looking for great rock and roll with a hint of variety of influences then “Moments Of Magnitude” is the album for you.”
Macavity - Muen Magazine

“This UK bank sounds like they inherited Rush's genius and then boosted it to the heavens! ”
Stan Stewert - Muz4now

"It takes guts to say that your band sounds like Rush, The Police, King’s X, and Genesis, and then actually get me to agree with you. However, listening to this Reading, UK band’s song submission easily validated those comparisons in my eyes. I heard elements of each band in the overall musical mix, and the best part was that I didn’t feel the song was derivative".
Penfold - The Ripple Effect

"From start to finish....the newest release from SjW, "Moments Of Magnitude" Exudes greatness....Doing only what a consumate Rock trio can do... Deliver hard driving, well scripted Rock N' Roll on the level of, The Police and Rush, with a taste of Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin. Combined with fresh twists and new turns, ala Jethro Tull... This is stand up and take notice, intelligent Rock N' Roll from the heart of modern day England!!! "
Chris Lewis - KVRM - Danish pick of the week

““Moments Of Magnitude by SjW is the rockingest album I've ever had the pleasure to be involved with - a terrific range of juicy, beaty and melodic songs, performed with panache, and equal measures of skill and invention. It's a thoroughly rewarding album that bears repeated listening, and has a wonderfully breezy yet powerful production that allows the music to breathe - even if I do say so myself!.”
George Shilling - Producer - Bank Cottage Studios

“Great Album !”
Greenz & Nova - Total Rock FM

“I thought the last album was great, if anything "A State of Delirium" is even better !”
Simon Colling - NE1FM Rock show

“””From the first time I heard SjW, I was sold ! From London, SjW serves up brilliant powerhouse hard rock that expertly blends intelligent pop melodies... This is a bridge that hasn't been exploited, let alone built yet, but it seems that SjW has a unique stronghold on this unexplored genre. A power trio with a serious punch....The Outfield meets Kings X or Cream meets The Police...A very exciting band to follow and with ”Moments of Magnitude” as the follow up to ” A State of Delirium” SjW are assuring themselves a solid niche in Rock N' Roll history...A must listen !!!”””
Chris Lewis - Danish Pick of the Week on KRVM-FM 91.9
