If you were to pick one artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, it is our hope that you will listen to DEIZEL. Born and raised on the Southside of Minneapolis, he began his exploration of music around the age of 2. DEIZEL comes from a long line of musicians stemming from his father’s bloodline, so in the spirit of teaching, his father, (Musician & Chef) Frederick Donald Allen Jr., started showing his son the basics of playing drums, by purchasing him his own “Fraggle Rock” drum set, that was bought for him for his birthday. At the age of 17, DEIZEL faced one of the most challenging experiences in his life when his father passed away from the devastating disease A.I.D.S., and from that point on in his life, it has become DEIZEL’S mission to set up a foundation honoring his father’s memory, to help those with the disease, to help inner city children with learning music and learning how to cook.
