Biography:

Black Tartan Clan is a band Celtic rock formed in 2008 by MacTouche and MacPië with the dream of creating a band that combine melodic punk rock with sounds and instruments traditional Celts, such as Highland bagpipes and the banjo. Following in the footsteps of some of your favorite bands like Dropkick Murphys and Real McKenzies, the band released their first demo in 2008, taking a leap of popularity that leads them to play at the best festivals in Belgium and the rest of Europe. With 5 CDs and 2 EPs published and more than 300 shows in Belgium and the rest from Europe, Black Tartan Clan has established a solid reputation as a live band and has a growing fan base across the world. In May 2014, the band released their latest CD, 'Scotland in our Hearts', marking a new milestone in the evolution of the band and presenting their unique sound to the world. Epic bagpipes and melodic banjo, served with a sauce of powerful electric guitars and a ripped voice that gives you all the strength you would expect from a band that it is postulated as a benchmark of the rock scene in Europe. In 2017, the band broke up due to MacTouche moving to Spain. However, he could not allow the band to fall into oblivion, so after several tryouts it’s back to the roots. Meaning MacPië and MacTouche. The Black Tartan Clan will be working on new material for you all to enjoy but will say goodbye to the live performances.

Press:

“Belgium can be proud of this unusual band. The CD contains 12 songs that fit together one by one and perfectly fit a big festival. (translated from dutch)”
RockXXL - Don't Walk Alone CD review

“The title of the EP is clear enough. The Black Tartan Clan are standing strong. If they had chosen “Standing Stronger”, maybe they would have been more accurate. Since this 4 track EP is a killer. Four top-notch songs and the band tighter than ever. The sound is brilliant, powerful, well balanced. No weakness is shown.”
