Moving to Sedona from NYC was a big leap but now Sedona is in the rear view mirror and Clarkdale looms ahead. Lots of reasons but an important one I'd like to share is that time keeps flowing and when the river goes it's a good idea to get in the boat.
Back in the city I was known as the Hell's Kitchen Rock n Roll Legend. I named myself that because I rocked all the dive bars in my neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. And that's solo.I also had many band configurations under my belt. I made a few bucks and a lot of dedicated fans Now, as Mighty Tim Young,.my arms have been stretched out to embrace the northern Arizona scene. I have steady gigs at Vino Di Sedona, Page Spring Cellars, Alcantara Winery, Hippie Emporium, Pillsbury Winery and Carlson Creek.
I have released four CD's on my own label, Not Fade Away: No Stranger (2002) Red (2005), The Cost (2008) and Live Tim Young in 2015. They are all available at CD Baby and other online stores. I am currently recording my fifth release which is "The Lucky Ones." Release date is set for Spring 2020. All new songs and a full band.
My songs are guitar based and my lyrics come from my personal experiences and all walks of life. My influences go way back to when the folk boom was big with Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, and, of course, Mr. Dylan. Then the Beatles came along and the rest of the British Invasion. American artists who counted were Tommy James, Wilson Pickett, Motown artists and Girl Groups like Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. More recently, the Sex Pistols, Tom Petty, The Ramones, Green Day, John Hiatt, Nanci Griffith, etc.
Along with my soulful vocals my calling card has always been the power of my rhythm guitar playing which I have been fortunate enough to have developed over the years. It serves me well in my originals and the many covers one is called upon to deliver. My main axe is my Martin acoustic but also my Fender Telecaster.
Performing in front of an excited crowd is definitely a highlight for me. Rock on.
“The track is a great mix of wonderful folky acoustic guitar with a rock edge from the fast playing and quick chord changes while the vocals have a wonderful sense of rhythm to them leading the song beautifully from verse to chorus and back again with the gravelly tone that runs throughout them giving them such a lovely quality in sound.
'Everything I Ever Wanted To Be' is taken from a new release which is due out early this year and will definitely be worthy of more than a few listens.”

“Tim Young Band’s ‘The Cost’ is the perfect summertime soundtrack. It feels best to listen to it while sitting in front of a campfire, surrounded by company but alone with your thoughts.”

“The Cost is a mellow classic rock album with strong songwriting and tight arrangements. It's not feel good music per se, but you'll feel good listening to it.”
