Smooth.T was born in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands, the birthplace of his mom, but whose father was from Trinidad. He grew up in Jamaica and attended the Alpha Boys School in Kingston. Alpha Boys a school known for its strong music background, produced such artist as "Yellow Man" "Leroy Smart" Tommy McCook, "Don Drummond" of the Skatalites and many more. While at Alpha Smooth T learned drums and also sang in the choir.
