“It’s Our Rite CD by Thoth Ganesh © There is nothing of the meditation theme here. Thoth Ganesh has very different approach and feel from Wendy Rule. This album comes across more as a celebration than as a contemplative approach. That is not to say that it is composed exclusively of happy songs – “Think Harder” and “Ode” are meaningful, but hardly happy-go-lucky. Some of these songs are autobiographical to an extent, and a few of them are definitely NOT “G” rated. There is one (“A Musical Invocation”) which could usefully be employed as part of a ritual, but the overall tone is one of simple enjoyment. You won’t find a lot of inspiration in these tracks, but you can certainly spend the better part of an hour losing yourself in the thoughts and experiences of another. I give Thoth full marks for honesty and integrity. As I’ve said in other CD reviews, we need to support our Pagan artists so that we can continue to enjoy their music for years to come.P”

“Pagan Summer, by Thoth Ganesh CD: CD Baby, 2008 There are eight tracks on this release. They cover a lot of territory from “Dionysus is Rising” (written for a Paganfest performance) to “Jai Ganesha” (a Hindu praise song). Thoth Ganesh did all the performance work on this album (singing and playing all the instruments). And, with the exception of the lyrics for “Jai Ganesha” (which are traditional) he wrote all the lyrics. Obviously, this is a multi-talented individual. “One World” has a distinctly “bluesy” feel to it, while “Firedance” and “Dionysus is Rising” are pure Pagan gathering material. These examples show the range Thoth is capable of. The inspirations run from the Vietnam conflict to the glory of mead and the honey bee. In other words, they were drawn from life.”
