With a sound seemingly grounded at the crossroads between country and rock, Magnolia Collective’s narrative-driven songs often drift unexpectedly toward the gothic, paving an off kilter road of psychedelic dream-folk.
Having released two EPs and one full length album, 2015’s An Old Darkness Falls (Potluck Records), Magnolia Collective is a band unafraid to delve into the uncanny while exploring the theme of a haunted America. With their melancholic harmonies and swirling guitars, their songs often seem intent on finding the spectral within the familiar and the beauty within the fleeting.
Known for a live show that never flags in intensity, Magnolia Collective appreciates that music is a medium that hangs in the air and then is gone. These fugitive qualities are what makes their songs such a compelling listen.
The band is currently working on a new album slated for release in 2017.
