Biography:

Fredrick Newson aka Dnewz was born in Memphis, TN, but grew up in Chicago,IL dividing most of the time between the two. He realized he had a gift for writing songs at an early age and practiced his skills while singing in the church choir and school as well as city choirs. Always surrounded by talent Fredrick began studying different techniques to honing his craft and stepped out on his on first showcasing himself at his jr. high scool homecoming in Memphis. After proving he could face large crowds, Fredrick took on a new hobby writing rap lyrics. When he returned to Chicago the rap scene was huge and he wanted to be a part of it, so came the birth of Devo. Attending Englewood High School Devo saw that Rapping was an unofficial school sport and it was an honor to represent and he did. After school he spent time overseas where he got into producing for young artists and returned home to join forces with a group of talented artists to form the Underworld Connection record label. By this time a change was needed to show a new beginning he wanted to incorporate all that he was past and present, hence the birth of Dnewz.
