Born and bred in the industrious streets of Alexandra, Virginia in the late 70's; Shadow has made a household name for himself as a contemporary rapper with an aptitude to thrive in any environment. In the early 80's, Shadow moved to Sierra Leone as a boy and returned back to the United States a decade later as a man with a new perspective on life.
An individualist when it comes to his music, Shadow has a mass appeal that transcends culture, race and creed. His delivery, sound and lyrical content shows budding promise of a soon to be 'one of a kind', like that of Tupac and Lauryn Hill. Shadow is real and an exceptional brother with a remarkable personality and insight.
Better known as his stage names Shadow or Shadow Boxer, he is a versatile rapper whose writing skills compete with the best in the business. His blend of African (Sierra Leonean) and American roots, is the foundation of his music and the style that he portrays. Varying between the languages of Krio (Broken English mixed with French) and English, Shadow uses striking melodies to draw listeners in to a new and very welcome voice of the Rap genre. His unique blend of raw, natural talent and his unique way of musically expressing himself has elevated him to where he is today.
He credits KRS One, Naughty by Nature, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, and Nas as the influences who helped him improve his ability to write hooks and create music into an art form deserving to be called "MASTER PIECE."
Shadow continues to do numerous performances in the DMV. His hit single "Sunshine" hit DC/MD/VA area by storm. He also had a recent release on Youtube "OBAMA...THE MOVEMENT", which generated over 700 hits over a course of one week. He is currently performing this single in colleges and university as well as community events in efforts to encourage youths to not only go out and register to vote, but to actually vote.
