Booking: info@lakotajohn.com

Lakota John, a young Native American (Oglala Lakota/Lumbee) blends traditional styles of Delta and Piedmont acoustic blues with bottle-neck slide guitar. A bit of harmonica, mixed with the Native American flute and topped with his unique “old man” soulful blues vocals, he captures all audiences.

Lakota John performs solo; with his family band "Lakota John & Kin" or with Friends, (George Johnson- Bass Guitar; Tony Raimondo-Drums; Miss Layla-Vocals & Percussion & Sweet Papa John-Acoustic Guitar/Harmonica).

Tim Duffy, Founder of Music Maker Relief Foundation states, "Lakota John Locklear is a blues guitar prodigy from Pembroke, NC..." Some of his greatest influences are Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal, Casey Bill Weldon, BB King, Derek Trucks, Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter and Duane Allman, to name a few.

Press:

““Lakota John is already a skilled guitarist, perfectly mastering Piedmont blues fingerpicking and slide guitar. But what is even more impressive is his voice, so raspy and powerful it seems to be an old bluesman's!””
– SoulBag Magazine France

"his vocals have a gritty edge that belies his youth and, together with his slide playing, enable him to bring off a cover of Robert Johnson's Crossroads Blues... this is a strong debut that marks Lakota John as a talent worth watching." CD Review-- Lakota John & Kin
