Biography:

The Spanish Channel is a melodic power trio -- way-catchy uptempo alt-rock with harmony vocals. Each song is a miniature movie of life in New York City; all lust, tears, screams, and big drums. The band lives in Brooklyn, NY, and rocks like Foo Fighters, Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Fountains of Wayne, The Cars, Maroon 5, Ben Folds, Lit, and fun.

Recent Highlights:
- Opening for Tim Reynolds & TR3 (of Dave Matthews Band)
- A sold-out NYC CD Release Show
- Winner in the Midas Rock The Highway national band contest
- A mention in the November 2010 issue of Spin Magazine
- Performances at Atlantic City's Caesar’s Palace & L.A’s House of Blues

In addition, the band wrote and recorded the theme for the Federal Hockey League’s Danbury Whalers and wrote and produced a TV commercial for LandlordLinks.net. They’ve performed live on Wesleyan University WESU-FM & Western Connecticut State University WXCI-FM, and they’ve been featured guests on The Real Radio Show on WRCN-FM in NY. The band headlined the inaugural Big Apple Indie Music Series in NYC, and just completed a California tour. They are now touring the eastern US, and gearing up for a European Tour in Spring 2014.

The Spanish Channel is: Jaime Garamella (lead vocals, bass), Lauren Stockner (guitar, vocals) and Bruce Hordon (drums, vocals).

Press:

“Featuring the shredding guitar stylings of Berklee graduate Lauren Stockner, The Spanish Channel manage to be both commercial and cool.”
Katherine Turman - Village Voice

“The energetic performances of the Spanish Channel have won over wide-ranging crowds, garnering a national battle of the bands title, a sold-out CD release in New York, and a spot opening for Tim Reynolds. They've been mentioned in SPIN magazine and were commissioned to write the theme song to which the FHL hockey team the Danbury Whalers skates out.”
Adam Olenn - Berklee News

"Catchy rock songs with 4 part harmonies, big hooks and guitar solos right out of the classic rock era...The new album continues on the course set on 2008's Upside Downer while showing some definite growth as a band...Jaime Garamella has a talent for writing lyrics that blend personal thoughts, clinical perspectives and humor in sometimes surprising ways...It's like a painting in song, full of vibrant images and tones...[Lauren] Stockner's extended guitar solo recalls some of the later work of David Gilmour...The pacing of the album is great."
Wildy Haskell - Wildy's World

“This earnest uptempo pop/rock band aims to please. Led by singer/guitarist Jaime Garamella...The Spanish Channel stand out, as the lyrics and hooks are far from boilerplate. The band...stylistically resembles The Spin Doctors...but keeps things fresh with a variety of rockers that are really unique in sound. The best song here is the Fountains of Wayne-like "Trivia Night". The band chugs on all cylinders here.”
Aaron Kupferberg - Powerpopaholic

"They're a perfect band to see live...catchy lyrics and hook-laden music...you'll be singing along."
Mike Showalter - CultureMob

“Nice music production & arrangement...great artistry, this group is one to watch.”
International Acoustic Music Awards

"Keep an eye on this band...The songs remain memorable. Jaime Garamella has a melodic voice and some noteworthy lyrics...that are not of the normal variety, and this could certainly help The Spanish Channel stand out."
Chris Dahlberg - CosmosGaming.com

"Upside Downer is a brilliant album...gorgeous melodies, arena rock style harmonies and memorable instrumental arrangements...radio ready today, and would get a lot of attention in the right market/demographic."
Wildy Haskell - Wildy's World
