Kenneth Reese is a classically trained pianist from Detroit, Michigan. His love for the piano began at a very early age. As a child he would travel to his brother and sister's piano lesson. Being intrigued, he would take their piano books and teach himself how to play. He had been blessed as a child to be able to play on a Story & Clark grand piano which his mother won on Let's Make a Deal in 1968. To this day he still has the piano in his home.
As a young teenager Kenneth was fortunate enough to study privately under the illustrious Maria Meirelles. Aside from Kenneth's parents, Miss Meirelles was very instrumental in his musical journey. It was she who was the first to notate one of Kenneth's earliest piano pieces. After high school, Kenneth attended Hampton University where he majored in Piano Performance. There he studied under and was mentored by the great African American composer, conductor, and educator, Dr. Roland Carter. Kenneth would later go on to Wayne State University where he continued studying piano under the awesome direction of another consummate professional pianist, Dr. Doris Richards.
